John M. Horsch and Anna Schweich

John M. Horsch was born in Trier, Germany on April 19, 1860. His father was Mathias Horsch. Anna Schweich was born in Germany on April 7, 1864 to Matt Schweich and M. Hoffmann. John and Anna were married in Germany around 1880, and they had two children there -- John Mathias, Jr. and Mary.

In 1886, they travelled to Antwerp, Belgium and sailed on the ship Westernland to America. They arrived in New York on October 21, 1886. John and Anna settled in Chicago, Illinois, where they had four more children. They were Theresa, Joseph, Margaret and Michael.
