MRS. JOANNA ARNOLD
Funeral services were conducted Saturday morning for the late Mrs. Joanna Arnold, of North Lebanon township, near the Narrows,
at 8:45 o'clock, at the house and 9:30 o'clock in St. Mary's Catholic church, in charge of Monsignor Christ.
Interment was made at the St. Mary's Catholic cemetery. The bearers were two sons, Paul and Robert Arnold, and four grandchildren,
Andrew Pyles, Raphael Pyles, of Myerstown; Adam Hollinger and Raymond Hollinger.
P. H. Thompson Sons, of South Ninth street, had charge of the arrangements.

(From an adjoining State we have the following information and
interrogations.)
Jacob Hollinger, who died in
1781 or ‘82 in Lebanon county,
Pennsylvania; m. Anna Barbara Stackhouse, b. about 1740 and who came
from England. Their children were:
1. Thomas, the oldest; living near the Conewago; had a son Seth,
and a
daughter Catherine, who m. ------- Gruber.
2. Joseph, of Reading Furnace, one of whose daughters, Eliza,
married
-------Roland.
3. Daniel, whose children were Catherine, Margaret, Barbara
and
Thomas.
4. Elizabeth, b. 1761 m.Thomas Hampton; their daughter, Sarah
m.
------ Dunbar and had three children: Sarah, m. Isaiah Fraim; Samuel, m.
Miss Boyd, and Eliza, m. Walter Bell, of Dauphin Co.
5. Catharine; b. 1764; m. William Sullivan, who d. about
1794; their
children were: Solomon, John, Sarah and Elizabeth; Sarah m. Henry Kremer
and had six children, viz: William, Martin, Maria, Catharine, Ann, Sarah
m. --------McDonal, and Lydia m. Jeremiah Dougherty, of Lebanon;
Elizabeth m. --------Ramsey and had Daniel, John, Catharine, Sara, Ann
and James.
6. Anna Barbara; b. 1774; d. Oct. 24, 1857; m. John Shay, b.
1774 or
‘75 d. July 16, 1846; their children were: Thomas, who m. Catharine
Snavely and had seven children; Elizabeth, m. P. Friel and had three
children, Ann; Mary, m. Walter Clark, left no issue; Samuel, m. Ann
Porter, and lived at Mr. Joy, Pa., where one daughter now lives; Wm.
Coleman, m. Lucinda Thomas, and left decedents; Cyrus; and Charles
Wesley, who both died in infancy. Sarah, m. George Atkins, and has
four
children.

was ensign in Captain Fisher's company, 5th Battalion, 1st Brigade, Penna.
Militia, under Major McFarland, September 1, 1814, to March 5, 1815.

Jan. 1872 page 32 Gospel Visitor In the Tulpehocken Church, Lebanon
county, Pa., on Sunday, Nov. 12th, brother JACOB BUCHER, aged 64 years,
7 months and 18 days. The evening before, he was in meeting well. Sunday
forenoon he was missing; no one knew why. Many asked after meeting. “Where
was old brother Bucher to-day?†some of his children who
live away from home made for his house and found him suffering somewhat
from pain across his breast. When the rest were taking dinner he walked
to the stable, fed and came back, and sat in his chair conversing freely
with this children about half an hour, when suddenly he commenced to tremble,
and in two minutes’ time was a corpse –
leaving
three sons and four daughters; all members of the church, and two sons
laboring in the ministry. Funeral on the 15th – large
concourse of relatives,
neighbors and members. Occasion improved by brethren Jacob Hollinger, John
Zug, and John Herr. Text, Isaiah 3: 10

For those who may be interested, the following is an excerpt from "A
History, St. Mark's Reformed Church, Lebanon, PA."
"The erection of the Chapel took place during the summer and fall of
1885....The Corner Stone was laid on Sunday Juy 19 at 2:00
p.m.....Dedication Day, Sunday, December 13, 1885.... On the eve of May
12, 1887, a meeting was held in St. Mark's Chapel for the purpose of
formally constituting the new congregation. The REv. Dr. F. W. Kremer
presided at this meeting and constituion had been prepared previously by a
committee consisting of Dr. F.W. Kremer, A. H. Miller and E.D. Krall.
This constituion was then adopted. An election of officers was held
with
the following results: Elders, A.H. Miller and E.D. Krall. Deacons,
John
Albright, Hiram D Miller, Charles Swope and A.P. Wilhelm. These newly
elected officers were duly ordained and installed by Dr. Kremer at a
regularly held church service in the Chapel on the afternoon of Sunday,
May 15, 1887."
"In the organization of the congregation the "Mother Church
(Tabor) gave
152 members and St. John's Reformed Church, Jonestown gave four
members."
