Kell Higginbotham & Clarence Seavers

Couple Quietly Married

Clarence Seavers and Miss Kell Higginbotham slipped away to Jacksonville last Saturday and were quietly married. Monday they returned to New Smyrna and left for Valdosta, Ga., to make a short visit with Mrs. Seavers' family, after which they will make their home in Jacksonville. The marriage ceremony was performed at the home of the bride's aunt, Mrs. John Wingate.

Vera Higginbotham & S. Porter Young

Ocala (Fla.) Star

Married by Rev. C. L. Collins, at the Baptist parsonage, Tuesday evening, Miss Vera Hegginbotham and Mr. S. Porter Young. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. C. Hegginbotham of Sparr. She has been one of Marion county's most efficient young teachers, is pretty and accomplished and numbers her friends by the scores. Mr. Young is an employee of Dunnellon Supply company, a hustling, an intelligent young man and popular wherever he is known. He is a native of Robeson County, N. C., but has been a resident of Marion County, Fla., for a number of years. He is a brother to J. C. Young, who is an employee of the Knight and Strange Dept. store. R. F. and W. D. Young, of West, Fla., most successful truck farmers.

Miss Hegginbotham has been teaching at Rome, Fla., and in that neighborhood. The young couple had their romance which culminated in the wedding, accompanied by Dr. J. F. Curry of Dunnellon and J. C. Young, a brother of the groom. They came up from Phosphate City in a car, obtained licenses from Judge Putch , and then proceeded to the parsonage, where Dr. C. L. Collins soon joined their hands. After the wedding, the happy couple left in their car for the easy coast for their honeymoon, after which they will make their home in Dunnellon. The Star joins their friends in best wished through a married life.

Frank Higginbotham & Louise Mangum

Higginbotham-Mangum Marriage Announced

Mrs. E. S. Mangum announces the marriage of her daughter, Louise, to Mr. Frank Higginbotham, of Jacksonville, Fla., which was solemnized on December 3, 1939, in Jacksonville.

Mrs. Higginbotham, formerly of Florence, has been employed with Goode's Bakeries in Jacksonville for the past four years. Mr. Higginbotham, a son of Mr. and Mrs. McGee, holds a position with Conway Bros., in Jacksonville, where he and his bride will make their home.

Mrs. Wilbur Langston and her daughter, Mrs. Robert DeBruhl, are back from a motor trip to Kinston, N. C. They drove up to attend the wedding on Saturday of Betty Lou Higginbotham to Garland Rouse.

Roger Higginbotham & Maxine Jones

Jones-Higginbotham Vows Are Exchanged

Miss Maxine Jones, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Prappas of Chelsea, Mich., and Roger Higginbotham, son of Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Higginbotham of Clover Road, exchanged vows Friday, August 1 at the United Community Methodist Church.

The evening ceremony was performed by the Rev. Lee E. Strother. The bridge was given in marriage by Ernest Bridges.

Miss Rebecca Ann Randall was maid of honor, with Miss Deanna Michelle Jones as flower girl.

Howard Masters served as best man. Lanie Higginbotham, brother of the bridegroom, served as usher. The ring bearer was Grant Richard Jones.

A reception followed at the Higginbotham residence.

Assistants at the reception were Lisa Rockey, Mrs. Russell Sikes and Mrs. Grace Allen.

The newlyweds honeymooned in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and are now at home at Route 4, B8A, Rainbow Dr. The bride is a beautician at Harold Trainor's Hair-em. The groom is employed by Higginbotham Wood Company.
