Abraham Hickman Sr. was born from 1765 to 1775. He was the son of Samuel Hickman and Nannie (---). He married Rachel Everingham, daughter of James Everingham and Sarah (---), from 1790 to 1794. Abraham and Rachel had at least 10 children, per the Census. However, no documented proof has been found of their names. Using circumstantial evidence and a thorough research of all existing documents, the names of four children been identified: Abraham Jr, Morgan, Bowen, and Louisa. DNA research on descendants of Abraham Jr, Morgan and Bowen has collaborated those findings. Also, David Hickman could be another son. In 1822 David Hickman paid a $1.55 fee to Greene County, and in 1824 David Hickman was "a disinterested witness" to Abraham Hickman's warrant for land in Franklin Twp.
