1.FIELDING WINDLE

Fielding Windle was born in 1799. He married Nancy Kerr

Young October 1, 1820. Nancy, a daughter of Andrew and Margaret

(Glass) Young, was born about 1805 and died in Monroe County VA

(WV) in 1845. Fielding's second wife was Sarah Margaret Jamison.

Known children of Fielding and Nancy Kerr (Young) Windle.

4.ROBERT HANGER WINDLE 1.FIELDING WINDLE

Robert Hanger Windle, a son of Fielding and Nancy Kerr

(Young) Windle, was born in Harrison County Va (WV) in 1826 and

died in Jackson County WV in 1896. He married Rebecca Morris in

Harrison County November 23, 1854. Rebecca, a daughter of

Benjamin and Mary (McWhorter) Morris, was born in Harrison County

in 1835 and died in Jackson County WV in 1877.

Robert enlisted in the Harrison Cavalry in Pocohontas County

VA (WV) August 25, 1862. The Harrison Cavalry became Co B of

17th Cavalry (CSA). He was in the Battle of Gettysburg in July

1863. He was placed on detached service in Ash County NC and in

1864, the 17th Cavalry moved to Saltville, VA. Robert hadn't

been paid for a year, so he resigned and returned home October

25, 1864.

In 1870, the family moved to Jackson County WV.

Robert married Miriam Rhodes in Jackson County May 16, 1878.

Miriam, a daughter of Solomon D. and Catharine S. Rhodes, was

born in 1852 and died in 1943.

George Nestor Windle, a son of Robert Hanger and Rebecca

(Morris) Windle, was born in Harrison County VA (WV) May 24, 1856

and died in Akron, Ohio May 26, 1926. He married Hannah Staats

November 24, 1875. Hannah, a daughter of Isaac and Anna Staats,

was born in 1854 and died in 1883. George married Clara Boice

August 17, 1893. Clara was born May 8, 1870 and died July 26,

1894.

George married Eveline Etta (Greenleaf) Casto, the widow of

Dr. Columbus Casto.

George spelled his surname "Wendell".

Benjamin Fielding Windle, a son of Robert Hanger and Rebecca

(Morris) Windle, was born in Harrison County VA (WV) January 15,

1858 and died in Jackson County WV September 6, 1925. He married

Maggie Bell Casto January 14, 1892. Maggie, a daughter of James

Cunningham and Sarah (Bradley) Casto, was born in 1870 and died

in 1897. After Maggie died, Benjamin married Lucy Cast.

Children of Benjamin Fielding and Maggie Bell (Casto) Wendell.

Isa Gay Windle, a daughter of Robert Hanger and Rebecca

(Morris) Windle, was born August 4, 1869 and died in 1904. She

married James McCrady March 24, 1893. James, a son of William

and Susan McCrady, was born in Jackson County in 1866 and died in

1904.

WINDLE

Hettie Jane Windle, a daughter of Robert Hanger and Rebecca

(Morris) Windle, was born in Jackson County WV October 11, 1871

and died January 17, 1905. She married Frederick Armstrong Casto

October 9, 1892. Frederick, a son of Martin and Elizabeth Jane

(Johns) Casto, was born July 20, 1867 and died March 22, 1936.

Frederic married Leona Litton August 17, 1905.

Children of Frederic Armstrong and Hettie Jane (Windle) Casto.

(Morris) Windle, was born in Jackson County June 18, 1874 and

died August 11, 1909. She married Enoch Staats May 27, 1894.

Enoch, a son of Isaac and Anna "Liza" (Tolley) Staats, was born

in 1842 and died in 1912. He married Louisa Casto in 1862.

Louisa, a daughter of Nicholas and Telitha (Casto) Casto, was

born in 1847 and died in 1893.

Children of Enoch and Louisa (Casto) Staats.

(Step children of Arizona Viola (Windle) Staats).
