1.WILLIAM FREDRICK NITZ

William Frederick Nitz was born in Jastrow Germany March 14,

1832 and died in Calhoun County WV May 18, 1920.

William emigrated to America about 1850. He served the Union

in the Civil War, enlisting in Co F 9th W.Va. Infantry at Gauley

VA August 25, 1862. He was transferred to Co F 1st W.Va. Veteran

Volunteers November 14, 1864 and was discharged at Cumberland,

MD June 28, 1865.

He married Maria S. Boggs in gilmer County WV October 1,

1867. Maria, a daughter of Hezekiah and Diana (Shock) Boggs, was

born August 14, 1845 and died July 4, 1921.

Maria S. (Boggs) Nitz, was born November 28, 1869 and died

February 17, 1953. She married Newton Tanner November 11, 1886.

Newton, a son of George Washington and Catharine (McCune)

Tanner, was born January 20, 1857 and died January 19,1929.

Henrietta married Charles Metz November 10, 1929.

William Albert Nitz, a son of William Fredrick and Maria S.

(Boggs) Nitz, was born in Calhoun County WV August 17, 1870 and

died in Barbour County WV May 30, 1950. He married Rose Etta

Markley in Barbour County August 27, 1893. Rose, a daughter of

James and Kathryn (Campbell) Markley, was born in Barbour County

May 9, 1873 and died there May 17, 1968.

He married Frances Hamrick April 14, 1893. Frances, a daughter

of Acy and Sarah (Hamrick), was born June 20, 1871 and died April

5, 1904.

Jacob married Elizabeth Mae Lane July 16, 1905. Elizabeth, a

daughter of Henry and Sarah (Buckley) Lane, was born in Mason

County WV May 1, 1878 and died April 9, 1968.
