    Lorenzo Dow McVaney, a son of John H. McVaney, was born in Lewis

County Va (WV) about 1841.  He married Columbia Anastasia Snyder.

Columbia, a daughter of William Harrison and Penelope (Sleeth) Snider,

was born in VA September 22, 1849.

    Columbia married John W. McCollugh in Gilmer County WV May 23 1886.

    John William McVaney, a son of Lorenzo Dow and Columbia A.

(Snyder) McVaney, was born in Gilmer County WV May 14, 1865 and died

there January 23, 1927.  He married Mary Elizabeth Snyder Janaury 15,

1888.

    Laura Ethel McVaney, a daughter Lorenzo Dow and Columbia A. (Snider)

McVaney, was born in Gilmer County WV September 27, 1875 and died in Calhoun County WV July 5, 1976.  She married Charles Edwin Marshall in Gilmer County November 29, 1896.  Charles, a son of Robert R. and Sarah (Stout) Marshall, was born February 26, l869 in Gilmer County WV and died there November 18, 1953.

McVaney, was born in Gilmer County WV in May 1890 and died January 10,

1981. He married Lucille Marjorie Stalnaker Janaury 20, 1940. Lucille, a

daughter of Thurman and Goldye (Brannon) [Collins] Stalnaker, was born

May 20, 1915 and died in Lewis County WV March 2, 1999.
