the British Navy before coming to America. He served the Colonies in

the American Revolution.

Robert McCray Jr., a son of Robert and Elizabeth (Simms) McCray, was

born May 24, 1794 and died in Webster County WV about 1867. He married

Margaret Bennett July 20, 1817. Margaret, a daughter of William and

Rebecca (McCally) Bennett, was born July 8, 1800 and died in Webster

County September 16, 1865.

married Mary Ann Grose in Lewis County November 15, 1835. Mary was born

in Bath County VA June 18, 1812 and died in Lewis County January 25,

1892.

Susannah (Coburn) Alkire, was born in VA about 1817.

born in VA October 19, 1819 and was killed in the Civil War February 23,

1862. He married Amanda Berry in Braxton County VA (WV) August 19,

1841. Amanda, a daughter of Lewis and Elizabeth (Damute) Berry,

was born in VA August 8, 1822 and died April 18, 1896.

James served the Confederacy in the Civil War and was killed by

bushwhackers on his way home.

died in Lewis County WV March 15, 1971.
