1.HUGH DUNN

 

    Hugh Dunn was born in England.  It is not know when or how he

emigrated.  In 1663, he settled in Dover, New Hampshire and was

given a 10 acre lot on the Lamprey River.  Being made a free man

indicates that he had either completed an indenture or an

apprentice ship.

    On July 18, 1664, he received a 20 acrey lot on the Lamprey

River.  In 1666, Hugh sold his land in New Hampshire and moved to

Piscataway, NJ, where he married Elizabeth Drake in 1670 or 1671.

    Elizabeth Drake, a daughter of Francis and Mary (Walker)

Drake, was born in England in 1648 and came to America with her

family.

    At the time of his marriage, Hugh bought 90 acres of land in

Woodbridge, NJ.  He continued to live in Piscataway and was given

a patent for 138 acres of land there in 1678.  He was one of the

founders of the Baptis church is Piscataway in 1678.

    Hugh died at Piscataway November 16, 1694 and his will was

dated October 7, 1691.  His wife died later.

9.JOSEPH DUNN     1.HUGH DUNN

 

    Joseph Dunn, a son of Hugh and Mary (Drake) Dunn, was born in

Piscataway, NJ January 20, 1689 and died there after 1730.  He

married his first cousin, Hannah Drake, in Piscataway in 1711. 

Hannah, a daughter of John and Martha (Martin) Drake, was orn in

Piscataway and died there after 1730.

    Hezekiah Dunn, a son of Joseph and Hannah (Drake) Dunn, was

born in Piscataway, NJ June 21, 1716.  He married Marcia Budd in

New Jersey in 1732.

DUNN

 

    Jemima Dunn, a daughter of Hezekiah and Marcia (Budd) Dunn,

was born at Piscataway, NJ in 1734.  She married John Bukey there

in 1750.

    John Bukey was born in Switzerland in 1725 and emigrated to

Marylan and then to New Jersey in 1750.

    The family moved to Ohio County, VA in 1771 and settled near

Wheeling.  John served at Fort Henry with his brothers in law and

was a corporal during the Revolution.  He died in February 1788

of wounds suffered during an Indian attack on Fort Henry.  His

will was probated in Ohio County August 3, 1788.

           VA.  Fought in Indian wars, Wood County's first judge,

served in VA legislature, died near Marietta, Ohio.

         m.Joseph Dodderidge  May 4 1794.
