    John Craddock was born about 1790.  He married Mary Gardener.

2.HUGH NELSON CRADDOCK     1.JOHN CRADDOCK

 

    Hugh Nelson Craddock, a son of John and Mary (Gardener) Craddock,

was born in Albermarle County VA November 17, 1823 and died in Gilmer

County WV February 27, 1901.  He married Sarah paulina Brannon in

Gilmer County March 5, 1863.  Paulina, a daughter of Thomas Brannon

Jr., was born in Gilmer County March 1, 1846 and died there January 1,

1928.

    Hugh was a riverman on the Rappahannock, James and Kanawha Rivers

before setting in Parkersburg in 1861.  He served the Union in the

Civil War, enlisting in Co D 11th W.Va. Volunteer Infantry November 7,

1861.  He was appointed Sergeant of Co I 10th W.Va. Volunteer Infantry

when the 10th Infantry and the 11th Infantry were combined July 16,

1865.

    Joe Nelson Craddock, a son of Hugh Nelson and Sarah Paulina

(Brannon) Craddock, was born February 22, 1864 and died in Clearwater,

FL September 28, 1925.  He married Virgie B. Woodell June 6, 1884.

Vergie, was born in Pocahontas County WV Septrember 19, 1865 and died in

Harrison County WV March 5, 1960.

    Harvey Lewis Craddock, a son of Hugh Nelson and Sarah Paulina

(Brannon) Craddock, was born in Gilmer County WV July 26, 1875 and

died in Lewis County WV February 15, 1917.  He married Geneva Arbuckle

Brannon in Gilmer County June 14, 1889.  Geneva, a daughter of John

Santford and Susan (Holt) [Ewing] Brannon, was born August 19, 1875

and died November 12, 1965.

    Bantz Woodell Craddock, a son of Joe Nelson and Vergie B.

(Woodell) Craddock, was born in Gilmer County WV November 14, 1887.

He married hallie Whiting December 5, 1913.  Hallie, a daughter of

Samuel Fletcher and Sarah Elizabeth (Wade) Whiting, was born June 4,

1888 and died April 3, 1940.

    Eula Joe Craddock, a daughter of Joe Nelson and Vergie B.

(Woodell) Craddock, was born in Gilmer County WV September 13, 1889

and died in Harrison County WV January 11, 1968.

    She married Cecil Johnson Ewing in August 1911 and moved to the

Panama Canal Zone, where she lived until 1962.

Bantz Whiting Craddock is a son of Bantz Woodell and hallie (Whiting) Craddock, he married Mary Elizabeth Johnson.

Bantz John Craddock’s promotion to four star General in the US Army was announced on the floor of the US Senate July 26, 2004.

Samuel Nelson Craddock, a son of Bantz Woodell and hallie (Whiting) Craddock, was born in Gilmer County WV in 1921. Faustine Stump. Faustine, a daughter of Ira Fell and Carrie (Lynch) Stump, was born in Calhoun County in 1924 and died in Baton Rouge, LA May 17, 2005.
