William Cookman, a son of Rice Cookman, was born in England October

19, 1758, and died in Jane Lew, VA (WV) December 8, 1849. He married

Elizabeth Beauchamp. Elizabeth, a daughter of Parker and Susanna

(Douglas) Beauchamp, was born near Leesburg, VA November 22, 1763 and

died in Lewis County VA September 24, 1847. They are buried at Old

Harmony Church Cemetery at Jane Lewis, Lewis County WV.

George Cookman, a son of William and Elizabeth (Beauchamp) Cookman,

was born in VA about 1790 and died in Lewis County VA (WV) July 30,

1850. He married Mary Teter Mitchell in Harrison County VA August 24,

1811. Mary, a daughter of John and Ann Margaret (Teter) Mitchell, was

born January 26, 1792 and died in Lewis County March 1, 1871. They

reportedly had at least 11 children but only five are identified in the

1850 Lewis County VA census.

Eunice (Bailey) [Stalnaker] Steorts, was born in VA February 24, 1834

and died in Roane County WV in 1914. The family moved to Roane County

WV in 1872.
