was probably born about 1650. He married Elizabeth
----. The family arrived at the Port of Philadelphia
aboard the "Bristol
Factor" from Berkshire, England September 28, 1681.

Coebourn, a son of Thomas and Elizabeth Coebourn, was
probabably born about 1675. He married Mary Baker in
1685. Mary was a
daughter of Joseph Baker.

COEBOURN
James Coburn, a
son of William and Mary (Baker) Coebourn, was born
about 1690 in Chester County, PA and died in Augusta
County VA about
1748. His son Jonathan posted bond as the administrator
of his father's
estate in Augusta County February 15, 1748.
James paid
taxes on land in Prince George's County Md in 1733. On
February 27, 1735, 300 acres on land on the Conegochege
River in
Franklin County PA was granted to James. This land was
sold to Philip
Davis October 16, 1736.
He was living
on the South Branch of the Potomac river in present
day Hardy County WV when George Washington surveyed
Wappacomo Manor for
Lord Fairfax in 1748.
His children
are named in the will of his son John, dated november
26, 1764.

Samuel Coburn,
a son of James and Mary Coburn, was born about 1715.
He married Margaret Burnett. The family pioneered on the
Catawba River
in Anso County NC. They were granted land there September
29, 1750. In
1775, the family left Anson County and joined Daniel
Boone in his
expedition to Boonesborough.

Jonathan Coburn
Jr., a son of Jonathan Coburn, was born in Augusta
County VA August 16, 1750. He served the Colonies in the American
Revolution.

Ann Coburn, a daughter of Samuel and Margaret
(Burnett) Coburn, was
born in Rowan County NC March 4, 1756. She married James
McDonald. James
was killed by Indians in 1776. Ann married James Herron
at Fort Logan in
1778.
James, a son of
John and Sarah (Moore) Herron, was born in Futlton
County PA in 1742 and died in 1792. His will is dated
November 28, 1791.
James and Ann
were granted 700 acres of land in Mercer County KY
June 9, 1789. The deed is recorded in Deed Book 2, page
72.
