David Caldwell, a son of John and Elizabeth (Hughins) Caldwell, was born in PA January 9, 1802 and died February 2, 1894. He married Hannah (Caldwell) Hart. Hannah, a daughter of James and Catherine (Sizemore) Caldwell, was born in VA January 15, 1797 and died in NC April 13, 1876. David Caldwell, Hannah Hart Caldwell, Judy Hart Caldwell, P. C. Caldwell and four unmarked graves are buried in Alleghany County, Prathers Creek Township, NC. This information is outlined in a survey which is dated April 22, 1981 by M.O. and June Zimmerman. Location of the graves are off of Road 1300, Ruth Perry, Off 113 and State Road 1300.

Samuel David Caldwell, a son of David and Hannah (Hart) Caldwell,

was born in NC January 10, 1830 and died in WV February 29, 1916. He married Susan Williams. Susan was born about 1832 and died before 1864.

Samuel married Rebecca Jane (Plummer) Young. Rebecca, a daughter of Samuel and Mahala (Reeves) Plummer, was born April 6, 1834 in Ashe County NC and died January 6, 1902. She first married John Roy Young. He died from complications of measles in the Civil War.

The family lived in Allegheney County NC and is listed in the 1880

census for that county. The couple moved to Clay County WV to be

near their children and died there.

Jesse Emerson Caldwell, a son of Samuel David and Rebecca Jane

(Plummer) [Young] Caldwell, was born in NC January 13, 1869. He married

Florida Jane Price. Florida, a daughter of John and Evaline (Thompson)

Price, was born in NC June 30, 1871 and died in Clay County WV February

5, 1956.

Jesse came to WV to work for the Clay Lumber Company in Clay

County. The family moved to WV about 1900.

was born in NC November 23, 1876 and died in Clay County WV November 21,

1961. He came to Clay County WV to work for the Clay Lumber Company.
