4.HENRY T. BRYAN
1.JAMES BRYAN
Henry T. Bryan,
a son of James and Elizabeth Bryan, was born in VA
about 1839. He
married Sarah Ann (Phillips) Rexroad about 1865. Sarah,
a daughter of Ebenezer and Catherine (Loudon) Phillips, was
born October
29, 1838. She married Leonard Rexroad October 5, 1859.
Leonard, a son of
John and Eleanor (Rymer) Rexroad, was born in VA January
11, 1836.
Leonard served
the Union in the Civil War. He was captured and
confined to Andersonville prison. He died on a hospital
ship at sea
enroute to a Philadelphia hospital in 1865.
Traditional
Rexroad family history says that Leonard Rexroad and
Henry Bryan were rivals for Sarah Ann Phillips hand. She
married Leonard
in 1859. Henry and Leonard served the Union in the Civil
War. Both were
captured and confined in Andersonville prison. Henry
survived and
married the widow Rexroad.
