Rev. William Hacker." (Calhoun County was a part of Lewis County at
that
time.)
Mary, a
daughter of Peter Sr. and Christina (O'Brien) McCune, was
born in VA about 1785 and died before 1834. She married
George Bush in
Harrison County VA (WV) December 27, 1804.

Jacob first married Christina Parsons, a daughter of
Joseph and Elizabeth (Bush) Parsons. Christina was born July 20, 1812
and died April 11, 1854 in Calhoun County, VA (WV). She is buried in
the Wayne Cemetery in Calhoun County, WV.
Jacob married
Rebecca (Nichols) McCune May 2, 1856 in Calhoun
County. Rebecca, a
daughter of Levan and Margaret (Mace) Nichols and
the widow of Daniel McCune.
He had a total of
eighteen children by two of his three wives.
All Jacob's children took the name "Wayne", and
the tax records of
Gilmer and Calhoun Counties show Tunis and Jacob
interchanging the
names "McElwain" and "Wayne" from
year to year.
Traditionally,
the family maintains that they are related to the
Revolutionary General, Mad Anthony Wayne, although there
is no
documentation.
