    John Lewis Acord, a son of Floyd and Sarah Acord, was born in

Raleigh County VA in March 31, 1858 and died in Nicholas County WV

September 11, 1933. He married Mary Eliza Meadows. Mary, a daughter of

Valentine and Sally (Cook) Meadows, was born October 17, 1863 and died

in Nicholas County December 27, 1957.

    The family moved from Raleigh County to Nicholas County in 1902.
