Birth between 1815 and 1821 Poméla Marie was born between 1815 and 1821 at Quebec, Lower Canada. On the 1861 Canadian census she says that she is 41 years old and born in Lower Canada, but on the 1851 census she says that she is 36 years old. Saul says that his mother was born in France on the 1900 census. Actually, French Canadians considered Quebec part of France whereas we consider it New France. Her death registration says that she was 55 years old at death in 1876 which would mean that she was born about 1821. On the death certificate for her son Saul, information given by W. Gordon Morin, who never knew her and all information was at best, second hand, her birth place is given as Canada.4,5,6,7,2,8

There is a younger child, Joseph, whose age is given as 1 year, but there is NO birth registration for this child, so I suspect that it is an error in the census.
