Birth	7 October 1644	Jacques was born on 7 October 1644 at Fécamp St. Légar, Rouen, Normandy, France. He was baptized on 7 October 1644. Some say that he was born in July of 1644.1,2,3
	1645	Note: de Fècamp, ar. LeHavre, archèv. Rouen, Normandie; frére de Nicolas m Martine TAUREY Meaning that at the archieves in Normandie some record indicates that he was the brother of Nicolas Marcot who married Martine Taurey.4
Baptism		At the time of the Tricentennial celebration (1967), Father Jean Marcotte, Capuchin, archivist of the Marcotte Family Association Inc., had not yet discovered the exact dates of birth of the two brothers, who were born at St-Léger de Fécamp, Normandie. Some months later, Father Jean became involved in communication with Monsieur Jean Lemaître, devoted archivist of Fécamp. The latter had patiently leafed through literally tons of documents and registers from the parish of St-Léger. Thus was Monsieur Lemaîstre able to find the baptismal records of the family of Charles Marcotte, himself baptized 25 February 1599 and the father of the two Canadian pioneers. His family was composed as follows: Robert, baptized 9 July 1639; Francois, baptized 4 November 1640; Nicolas, baptized 23 November 1642; Jacques, baptized 7 October 1644, and Marie, baptized 14 January 1646. It is said that she was baptized at St. Marceau of Faubourg, in Paris France.5
	1667	Jacque Marcot and his brother Nicolas arrived at Quebec about 1667 and established themselves at Neuville, on the Kings road along the river. Jacques must have moved to Trois-Rivieres at some time, and this is where he married Elizabeth Sallé. Jacques and Elizabeth lived at Trois-Rivieres for several years before going to Neuville to live on land next to brother Nicolas. About 1697, Jacques and his wife moved one more time, to Cap-Sante.   In August of 1967 the Marcotte families of North America celebrated the 300th anniversary of the arrival of their ancestors in America. Actually, Nicolas and Jacques Marcot arrived at Québec aboput 1667 and established themselves on adjacent land at Neuville, on the Kings road along the river. The committee of the Tricentennial fixed the precise spot and erected a monument with the following inscription thereon: Marcotte Tricentennial 1667-1967, ancestors Nicolas Marcot and his wife Martine Taurey Jacques Marcot and his wife Elizabeth Sallé lived here. Marriage	9 Sept 1670	Jacques Marcot-Marcotte, 25 years old, married Elizabeth Sallé, daughter of Pierre Sallé and Françoise Lupia, 9 September 1670 in Trois Rivières, Quebec, Canada. Tho' married in Trois Riviéres they lived in Newville and had 15 children. 	1681	On the 1681 census "recesament-seignieur Dombour Neuville,Quebec-5 children,1 fusil,4 betes a cornes,20 arpents en valeur" Saying there were 5 children, 4 horses, 4 beasts with horns and 20 acres under cultivation.
Death	12 Nov 1720	Jacques died on 12 November 1720 at Neuville, Quebec Canada at age 76.1,2
