JAMES O. Harrison was born 11 April 1804 at Mt. Sterling, KY. His parents were MICAJAH and POLLY, both Virginians. His father came to KY in 1786 and first located in Fayette, removing to Montgomery County where he was County Clerk for 30 years. His mother was the daughter of Rev. William Payne, a clergyman of the Baptist Church. He became a lawyer and was engaged in this profession at Vicksburg, MS from 1840 to 1860. James married Miss Margaret P. Ross of Fayette Co., KY on 20 July 1830.

My great grandmother as a girl of 12 was in or around Wetumpka, AL in 1847. Her sister, who was about 4 years older was born in TN (according to census). Angeline (Angelina or Ann) Harrison married her cousin Benjamin D. Harrison (b. AL 1824). Moved from Talladega Co., AL in 1850-51 to Homer Claiborne Parish, LA. Catherine (Kate) Harrison married in 1859, Jeptha Stanland. They had 2 daughters (Jessie m. R.J. Allgood and Lulu m. (1) W. S. Alford (2) Waymon Wasson.) Benjamin F. Harrison, brother of Angeline and Catherine born ca 1839 in AL or LA. He lived in New Orleans in 1910. He married Dora Morgan, native of MS. |

His first wife was Martha Bush. They had six children and the died May 15, 1808. He then married Elizabeth Dykes and they had six children, Also. She died May 20, 1827. I believe Benjamin came from North Carolina, but I am unable to locate hm, there. |
