On this third day of November 1819 before me the subscriber one of the Judges of the Superior Court of Law ________________ for the same District, personally appeared Demsey Harrison aged Sixty-one years resident in Camden County in the said District who being by me first duly sworn according to law doth on his oath make the following Declaration in order to obtain the provisions made by the late Act of Congress entitled "An act to provide for certain persons engaged in the land and naval service of the United States in the Revolutionary War". That he the said Dem Harrison enlisted for the term of three years on the 25th day of August in the year of 1777 -- in the State of North Carolina, in the company commanded by Captain Demscy Gregory of the Regiment commanded by Colonel Shepperd in the line of the State of North Carolina on the continental estableshment, that he continued to serve in the said Corps or in the service of the United States until the siege of Charleston when he was discharged from said service in Halifax, State of North Carolina. That he was in the Battle of Monmoth, at the storming of Stoney Point of the siege of Charleston, and that he is in reduced circumstances and stands in need of the assistance of his Country for support.

February the 6th 1821, I, Demcy Harrison do hereby certify this to be a true and correct amount of all my property which I know I am possessed of or hath been since the year 1818, that is to say, three beds and furniture, two pots, 1 Dutch oven, six chairs, three head of cattle, one sow and five or six shoats three or Tubs and ______, six plates, on set tea cups and saucers, on horse and saddle and bridle, two old hoes, two augers, one old pair cart wheels.

On the 5th day of February 1821 personnally appeared in open Court, the same Court being a court of Record, Demsey Harrison aged sixty-two years, who first being sworn according to law doth on his oath make the following declaration in order to obtain the provisions made by the Acts of Congress of the 18 March, 1818 and the first day of May 1820 that he the said Demsey Harrison enlisted for the term of three years on the _____ day of August in the year 1777 in the State of North Carolina in the Company commanded by Capt. Demsey Gregory in the tenth Regiment and was turned over into the first Regiment commanded by Col. Clark in the line of the State of N. Carolina on the Continental establishment that he continued to serve in the said corps until the taking of Charleston, when he was made a prisoiner by the enemy, from whom he escaped and was never afterwards exchanged, that he was at the Battle fought at Stoney Point on the North River, and in a number of skirmishes and at the siege of Charleston and altogether servied his country against the enemy for nearly three years, and in pursuance of an act of Congress of the first of May, 1820, I do solemnly swear that I was a resident citizen of the United States on the 18 day of March 1818 and that I have not since that time by gift, sale or any other manner disposed of my property or any part thereof, with entent so to deminish it, so as to bring myself within the provisions of an Act of Congress intitled an act to provide for certain persons engaged in the land and naval service

of the United States in the Revolutionary War passed the 18th of March, 1818, and that I have not, nor has any person in trust for me any property or securities or contracts, or debts due, nor have I any income other than what is contained in the schedule hereinto annexed and by me subscribed, and the said declarant further sa-s that he is a farmer, his age is sixty two years, that he has a wife but no children that lives with him, that he is tolerably healthy.
