John II Whitacre (May 14, 1704 - 1768) married Naomi Hulme (1713 - 1789) on June 24, 1734 in the Christ Church in Philadelphia, PA. They were the parents of 9 children, one of whom was George (I) Whitacre (1745 - 1785). According to the source, FETTERS, John II Whitacre was condemned by the church for marriage contrary to discipline on June 4, 1735. They moved to Kingwood, NJ in 1756, and resettled in Loudoun Co, VA in 1761. Same records indicate John and Naomi received certificate for removal on December 1, 1756.

It is of interest to note that of the 9 children born to John II Whitacre (May 14, 1704 - 1768) and Naomi Hulme (1713 - 1789), 5 of them moved to and died in Ohio. Naomi married Samuel Smith and moved to Jefferson County, Ohio; Joshua married Ann Steer and moved to Columbiana County, Ohio; Joseph married Jane Wilson and moved to Columbiana County, Ohio; Caleb married Phoebe Gore and moved to Warren County, Ohio and Robert married Sarah Roach and moved to Miami, Warren County, Ohio. The other 4 children remained in Loudoun County, Virginia.

Elizabeth McKee and George II Whitacre had 10 children, one of whom was Sydnor Whitacre (1836 - 1887). Both Elizabeth McKee and George II Whitacre are buried in a private Whitacre cemetery located on their farm. This cemetery is accessible via a right-of-way running from the old farm house to the cemetery.

[If the military service data are correct, it would appear that he may have died about 1787.] Henry arrived from Germany on September 21, 1771 at the Port of Philadelphia Pa as a passenger of the Ship Minerva which was mastered by Capt. Thomas Arnold. Prior to changing the spelling of his name, it was spelled Hinrich Windlandt. Henry was a private in Capt. James Bovard Co. of Rangers of the Frontier from Northumberland County from 1783-1787.

He died and was scalped in a conflict with the Indians. The story is told that he was buried under a railroad tie to prevent his bodies being disturbed. An army fort, Fort Baker, was named after him.

Martin Baker was the son of the famed John Baker, Indian fighter. Martin Baker married his first wife, N.N. (1809) on February 16, 1812 in Belmont County, Ohio and the couple had one daughter, Margaret Baker born September 17, 1809. N.N. (1809) apparently died about the time of Margaret's birth. Martin remarried to Jane Farnsworth sometime after 1813 and the couple had 8 children. Margaret Baker from Martin's first marriage is our ancestor, however.
