Balthasar, his wife Anna Jacky and their family moved to Bad Bergzabern, Germany about 1657. They departed about 5 years later in 1662 back to Saanen. They left behind, in Bad Bergzabern, Benedict and Barbara, who were then about 19 and 18 years old, respectively. However, Barbara eventually went back (about 1674 - 1684) to Saanen, Switzerland. Later she returned to Germany.
