Since 1975, I have extracted a significant amount of interesting data from many microfilms at Family History Centers. Most of this data is family oriented and has been given visibility through the database on the Kiron Kountry Library website. That database includes information associated with over 30,000 persons in Sweden, Canada, and the United States and who have some connection to the community of Kiron, Iowa. Other data collected is of a specialised nature and it has been entered into various Access databases on my home computer. This web page is created to give visibility into some of these data collections with the goal of providing some convenient help to genealogy researchers. Despite my best efforts to be accurate, errors in the extraction process do occur so all data must be viewed as 'secondary' and subject to proof. Page numbers are available for many entries to aid in the proof. Destination information supplied by readers will be appreciated and shared on the site.

Several emigrants from the Eksjö area of Jönköping län came to western Iowa. In the following tables are emigrants from the parish of Ingatorp during the years of 1850 to 1895. My farmors mors family lived here before emigrating. More emigrant data from parishes in this area (including post 1895 data) will be added as the data becomes available. The total table is sorted according to the initial letter of last name and is selectable from the following 'Switchboard'. These tables reflect the results of a correlation with the data on the Emigranten CD. There are many unmatched names between the two databases. There are several identifiable individuals who apparently changed their name between the time they left the parish and when they reported at the dock. How many of these individuals also did not report their age exactly is not known. The combination of a different name and different age makes name matching difficult. Destinations with a "CD" indication show individuals where a probable match was made.

My research has led me to believe that I am related to a significant percentage of the persons of Hvalinge parish (Varberg Kommun, Halland län) as nearly all of my farfar's family had lived there at least as far back as the 1600's. Because of the strange recording disassociation of children from their parents in the birth records prior to 1740, it became necessary to generate a complete population schedule to recreate family identities. Names in the following lists mostly came from the microfilms of the three (H)Valinge church books recording births, marriages, and deaths. Other names came from the earliest husförhörslangd records. Additional names extracted from land and probate records came from the historical works of Abraham Winka and were valuable in crosschecking assumptions. Then to complete the search for evidence to support the reconstruction, records from nearly all the surrounding parishes in that part of Halland were inspected. Excluding confusing spellings, I feel the reliability of the data is quite high but it still should be treated as "secondary" and be subject to proving. The total table is divided according to time spans and is selectable from the following 'Switchboard'.
