These (probably turn of the century) pictures of boats on the river near
Antwerp are from Ginny who
would appreciate any info about what's going on. (So would we.)
There's a key factory in the background...when, where?
A boatyard worker
The Zimmertower (Zimmertoren) in Lier. It's a combination clock/planetarium
with 13 dials. At noon, the red door in the center of the right side opens
up, and displays portraits of a dozen or so apparently famous folks for
a few seconds each. Who are they, and what do the other 12 dials do? Give
us a clue.
Some American tourists check out a Kappelleke (small chapel) on the
side of the road in Zaventem, near the national airport. Inside the grate
is a saint's statue (this one is of Mary). When were these built? How many
are left? Are they all this small? What were they for?
