About Us

IMPORTANT NOTICE - THE GRONO FAMILY ASSOCIATION CEASED OPERATIONS ON THE 16TH OF OCTOBER 2022.
The information below remains as a record of the history of the Association.

The Association began with an email from Robert Taylor on the 31st May 2006 asking for interested descendants to get together to discuss how we could support the Ebenezer Church with their 200th anniversary in 2009. Within months the Association started to take shape, and this website was launched on the 16th September 2006.

The aims of the Grono Family Association are:

The Grono Family Association has been set up as a not-for-profit organisation.

Membership* is open to all descendants of John Grono and Elizabeth Bristow and their spouses, as well as anyone interested in Grono family history.

No member of the Grono Family Association committee will be remunerated for their activities; all committee positions are voluntary and unpaid.

Any profits made will be used to further the aims of the association and will not be distributed either directly or indirectly to the members of the Grono Family Association except as bona fide compensation for services rendered or expenses incurred on behalf of the organisation.

In the event that the Grono Family Association should be dissolved, any amount that remains after the payment of all debts and liabilities will be transferred to the Ebenezer Uniting Church.

Each year a statement of the financial position of the Grono Family Association will be circulated to members.

As the Association is no longer operating, membership is closed.
