Greenhouse Family History--the Branches

~ ~ the Branches ~ ~

All good links and information have been transferred to the  NEW  website for the

But there is still a " T - O - N " of work remaining.

And why is all this taking so long, one might ask...

Well, there is the search for Augustus Short, the man who didn't die.
He was the first heretofore unknown ancestor that I found using the census.
He lived in Georgia during the War of Northern Aggression.
I learned to my dismay that he died at Gettysburg.
Only one problem -- he is on the 1870 Census with a pretty new wife,

Synthia Hampton.
There is more to the story and I will share it all, but in the meantime
All I want for Christmas is proof that his first wife was
Frances Perrie...
and her father, mother, sisters and brothers names.
Update -- Frances Perrie is listed as mother on Wesley Short's Death Certificate. Thanks Ken!

And then there is the HOuser-L mailing list and the Houser Message Boards
which have been equally neglected.
Houser Family History and Research
page is just barely getting started.  While waiting you might enjoy the photo
of the
Annual Houser Frolic & Picnic on June 5, 1923
at the Houston County GenWeb site.
Pictured are some of the descendents of
Andrew Houser, Jr of Orangeburgh, SC.

Greenleaf Family History and Research
Page is up, but the site is not (I will be changing it completely).
The family has been extremely patient,
but I am sure they are beginning to wonder if the site will ever be useful.
In the meantime there is the
Greenleaf-L mailing list and
the
Greenleaf Message Boards.

One of my many major projects has been
"Travelers In Time"
The Brevard Genealogical Society Quarterly Newsletter

In addition the FL-BREVARD-GENSOC-L mailing list is available.

Then there is Brevard GenWeb
and the
FL-BREVAR-L mailing list and Brevard Message Boards.

My very own pet project
is providing an arena to record
name changes and surname variations.
If you have an ancestor who used an alias
or was "also know as"

I invite you to add the names to the
ALIAS-AKA Message Board or to the ALIAS-AKA-L mailing list.
The only
forbidden topics are living people and 20th Century adoptions.

Then one afternoon, I went in search of a Serbia or Yugoslavia GenWeb site.
Next thing I knew I was the Administrator.
And
Montenegro came as part of the package.
Then someone offered to take on the provinces of
Vojvodina and Kosovo.
Yugoslavia no longer exists, it has been replaced by
Serbia and Montenegro.
The message board and website remain for historical purposes.
All the
Message Boards are up and running as is the volunteer.

For my Family...
A complete Surname Index really is in the works.
And that requires more work on our own Family History.
Just as soon as I finish ten other projects I'm don't know I am working on yet
.

This page will remail under construction......until I find ALL my ancestors!
