Gifford Family Roots

Welcome to my Gifford Family Roots page.  My quest for my family roots began in 1996 when my daughter was born.  While browsing through a bookstore I came across a family history book where you entered information about your family (vacations, pets, cars, etc.)  I thought this would be a great keepsake for my first child and purchased the book.  One of the first sections was asked for information about my ancestors.  Well I knew quite a bit about my grandparents but next to nothing about my great-grandparents and especially not my great-great grandparents.  The next time I visited my grandmother and grandfather I asked them for more information and an addict was born!

Unfortunately I am not able to visit many of the areas where my ancestors lived but I have received fantastic help from other cousins on the Internet.  Rootsweb.com has been an extremely valuable resource in helping my find others who share the same families lines.  I also created several versions of my Gifford Family Roots website which has also helped me in contacting family researchers.  My primary site is at www.giffords.org which contains much of my genealogy information.  This is one of my secondary websites which will contain some of the older family photographs that I am able to locate.

I currently use Legacy Family Tree software to record my genealogy information and I highly recommend it.
