Deliah Bowles Beard Obituary

From Wellington Daily News, 6 Jan 1949, Wellington KS (headline) Aged Resident of Milan Dies

Mrs. Deliah Beard, 85, long time resident of Milan and Sumner County died at her home in Milan on Wednesday morning at 11:00 o¹clock. She was born in Summershade, Ky., on Aug 19, 1863 and came to this county in 1894, settling in the Milan community.

Survivors include six nieces. Mrs. Elizabeth Hord, Milan, Mrs. Ola Creacy, Horsecave, Ky., Mrs. Connie Ferguson, Glasgow, Ky., Mrs. Flora Lane, and Mrs. Dimple Raven, both of Atlanta, Ga., Miss Lela Bowles, Louisville, Ky.; and one nephew, C. P. Bowles, Phoenix, Ariz.

Funeral services will be held on Friday afternoon from the Church of Christ in Milan with Otis Webb officiating. Burial will be in Prairie Lawn cemetery. The body will be in state at the funeral home this evening.
