In the name lf god Amen th 9 day of December in the
year of our Lord god 1704 I WILLIAM WILLAMS of the County of Arbermall in
Chon (sic) gentleman being verry sik and wek in boddy but of perfet mind &
memory thanks be given unto all myty god therfor calling to mind the
mortality of my body and knowing that it is apinted for all men once to diy
do mack and apint and order this my Last will and testament that is to say
prenceply and first of all I give and recommend myy sole unto the hands of
god that gave it and for my body I commend to the earth to be buried in a
christen lick and desent maner at the discreson of my Exetors nothing but at
the general Resurrexon I shal receive the sam again by the myty power of god
and as tuching my worldly offers and estate wher with it has plesed god to
bless me with in this life I give and devis and despos of the sam in maner
and form folling Inpromis. I give and bequeath unto my well beloved wif MARY WILLIAMS whom I likewis constuet make and orden my only and sole Execterix of this my last will and testamant the just half of ths tract or parsell of land wheron I now live and the other half unto my well beloved son SAMUELL WILLIAMS all not reserein that my beloved wif shall have her choys and after her deses her parte to fall unto the for sed SAMMULL to him and his ears lawfully begot of his body and in cas he shuld diy befor he shall have esue the for sd lnd to return to the nexe eare in law...Item I give unto my wel beloved son JOHN WILLIAMS on hundred and seventy fife eckers of land and plantason liing on the south side of Blak water commonly known and called by the name of Litell town I give unto my belove son STEVEN WILLIAMS four hundred ecakers of land ginning upon my now plantason and bot of CHARLES COLEFORD. I do give will and desire my well beloved wif being my holl exeteres to go theron with the charges of all my entries of land and have them sould and pation for the yous my well beloved wif and holy to her disposall I do give unto my three sons JOHN STEVEN and SAMMULL when at the eg of aighteen two cows and cafs possess and as for the 3 mars I wold have them rere for breeders and the first fold for my son JOHN and so for sold as thay ar folded to rere for the yus of the next eldest child and for my three sons I will that thay shall have two yous and lams possess at the eg of aitteen yers allso and to ech of my sons agen the eldest taking choys and to my son STEVEN on bak sord and to my son JOHN on resser and to eryon of my childdron I will on depe dish and plate possessd and to ech of my garls on fether bed and par of blankets and bolster and all the rest of my personall estat I lend to the disposall of myy hole and sole exetres and for all my lands which I have willed this is my will that it shall be given to them and ther ears lawfully begoten of ther one boddy and in cas thay shold dy befor thay have esou to return to the next ear at law and I do herby disalow revok and disnoll all and every other former testimment will legeses requests and exeters by me in any ways befor this tim nomnatd willed and bargained ratyfiing and conforming this and no other to be my last will in witnes whereof I have hereunto set my hand and sell this 9 day of December 1704 WILLIAM WILLIAMS TREDELL KEEFE LUIS WILLIAMS ("LW" his mark) ROBERT LANIER Chowan Ss Aprill the 15h 1712 Proved in open Court EDW'D BONWICK Clk Note: This will contains a lot of poor spelling, but I have transcribed it as is. As info, the location in the opening phrase should have said: of the County of Albemarle in Chowan. Albemarle was the original precinct that became North Carolina, with Chowan precinct being formed from Albemarle around 1670. Below I have transcribed the will with the proper spelling in order to help others to better understand it.

Will of WILLIAM WILLIAMS, 1704
In the name of God amen the 9 day of December in the
year of our Lord God 1704 I WILLIAM WILLIAMS of the County of Albemarle in
Chowan Gentleman being very sick and weak in body but of perfect mind &
memory thanks be given unto Almighty God therefore calling to mind the
mortality of my body and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to
die do make and appoint and ordain this my Last Will and Testament that is
to say, principally and first of all I give and recommend my soul unto the
hands of God that gave it and for my body I commend to the Earth to be
buried in a Christian like and decent manner at the discretion of my
Executors nothing but at the General Resurrection I shall receive the same
again by the Mighty Power of God and as touching my worldly offers and
estate wherewith it has pleased God to bless me with in this life I give and
devise and dispose of the same in manner and form following:

This was William Williams, father of Samuel Williams, died abt 1754, Edgecombe Co, NC. William Williams, d. 1712, was married to Mary Moore, daughter of George & Jennie Moore. George Moore, left a will in Isle of Wight, Virginia, probated January 24, 1714, which included the names of 2 of his grandsons, Samuel and John Williams.
