I GRANDERSON EVANS of the County of Chatham and State of North Carolina, being of sound mind and memory but considering the
uncertainty of my earthly existence, do make and declare this my last will and testament in manner and form following that is to say.
First, that my Executor shall provide for my body a decent burial suitable to the occasion, and pay all funeral expenses together with my just debts
howsoever and to whomsoever owing out of the first money that may come into his hands as part or parcel of my estate.
Item, I loan to my wife all my real and personal property of every description to her natural life her widowhood, after the death or marriage of my wife
A. EVANS all my lands to pass and loan to all my children and grand children up to the twenty generation except my daughter LOVEY STEWART she is not to
have no part in lands nor none of my personal property, except I give her one dollar to her and her heirs and assigns forever. My personal property my
desire is at the death or marriage of my wife that it be sold or divided as the legal heirs may agree, with the exception of LOVEY STEWART which is no
heir of my estate. I hereby revoke all former wills by me made.
In witness where of I GRANDERSON EVANS do hereunto set my hand and seal this the 17th of April 1880.

A paper writing purporting to be the last will and Testament of GRANDERSON EVANS deceased was this day offered for probate by L. B. SEARGRAVES the
person in whose charge the will was left, the Executor of said will was this day duly proved by the oath and examination of L. B. SEAGRAVES and MALEY A.
SEAGRAVES the subscribing witnesses thereto and said will was admitted to Probate and ordered to be recorded and filed.

Probate Judge (Granderson Evans [1824-1881) was the son of Richard & Lucy Evans who were married in 1793 in Warren
Co., and moved to Chatham County. Granderson was married in 1854 to Arabella Smith [1840-1927], who later married McRae Evans, after Granderson's death)
