BLUE,  BESSIE MISSOURI (PETERSON)                      09-09-1998


Bessie Missouri Blue, 85, of Gustine, died Monday, Sept. 7, in the DeLeon Hospital .

Services were set for 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 9, in the Union Cemetery near Gustine with Gale Scott officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Hall and Sons Funeral Home of Comanche.

Mrs. Blue was born Nov. 25, 1912 , in New Mexico , the daughter of Lida Foreman and William Douglas Peterson. She was a homemaker and a member of the Gustine Church of Christ. She was married to Robert Edgar Blue Jr. on Nov. 8, 1931 , in Comanche. He preceded her in death on Jan. 28, 1997 .

She was also preceded in death by a great‑grandson, David Robert Blue, in 1987; six sisters, Linnie S. Anderson, Cora B. Baker, Mae Pettit, Lida Pettit, Della Dingler and her twin sister, Lessie Morgan; five brothers, Jim Peterson, W. Lee Peterson, Allie Peterson, Tom Peterson and Walter Peterson.

Frank Like, 85, of Gustine, died Dec. 15, 2003 at Veterans Hospital
in Temple. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Dec. 17 at
the Comanche Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Harold Flemming
officiating. Burial will be in the Union Cemetery in Comanche County.
Mr. Like was born Feb. 16, 1918 in Alvarado, the son of Jesse V. and
Mary (Stembridge) Like.

For 17 years he drove a truck for Gore's Feed Mill, retiring in 1967.
He was a farmer, a member of First Baptist Church of Gustine and of
the American Legion in Priddy. He was also a veteran, having served
in the United States Army during WWII.

Mr. Like was married to Lena M. Durham on April 14, 1938 in Jack

Survivors include his wife of Gustine; a son-in-law, Larry Eilers of
Gustine; a granddaughter, Amie Eilers of Gustine; a sister, Ruby
Cannon of Mineral Wells; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Neva Sue Eilers.

Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Gustine or Union
Cemetery Association.
