SYCAMORE
BAPTIST CHURCH at Busyton,
approximately ten miles east of Hamilton, was
organized prior to September, 1883, when it was admitted to the Hamilton
County Baptist Association on 7 September, 1883. On 17 August,
1895, this church, Jonesboro Baptist
Church, and Friendship Baptist Church were excluded from the
Hamilton
County Baptist Association "heresy, causing trouble, extreme
positions on assurance and prayer, and for receiving members from other
churches in irregular manner." HCBA
refused to recognize B. S. Baswell, J. P. Henderson, and J. Linebarger as
ministers of the Gospel on the same charges of heresy.
