SYCAMORE CREEK

SYCAMORE CREEK flows from north of Lanham area down to join the Leon River near the Bulman Bridge and Cemetery and the early location of Busyton. Many sycamore trees originally grew along its banks.

"Sycamore Creek heads on the Wes Jones’ ranch near Lanham, runs through the Crocket Hendrix ranch and empties into the Leon before Bulman’s bridge. It takes its name from the Sycamore timber that grows on it."--Doris LaRue Stapleton and Capt. C. E. Horton.
