SNOWVILLE

Snowville was seven miles northeast of Hamilton near the Leon River Bridge on Hwy. 22 and near where Pecan Creek joins the Leon River.   Snow's mill was located between Alexander Creek and Pecan Creek. Mr. Snow had a sawmill on the Leon River at this location. Leon Baptist Church, #1 was located at Snowville.

Charlene Livingston Rose provided the information that Snow's sawmill was actually located at a spring-fed water hole on Pecan Creek near  the Leon River.  The spring-fed hole never goes dry.  Some of the concrete from Snow's mill remains.  The mill site is now on the Harris place.

This community may was later called Pulltight and may have been called Busyton.
