Evant is successor to the original Langford’s Cove,
and the gap just south on Highway 66 is Gholson’s Gap.
TRAINS
When trains first began coming to Hamilton they would go
out to the "Y" to turn around with more passengers than they had
on the regular run. Boys caught them for the free ride to the
"Y" and back.
CORONADO
According to Dr. Robert T. Hill of the Dallas News,
Coronado passed up the Bosque River. This would have had him going through
Hamilton County.
JONESBORO
Jonesboro was once quite an important town and
maintained a "college." The Hamilton school; was originally
called a "college" and men teachers were called professors.
