J. H. TAYLOR, 1897

Mr. Taylor was operating a saddle and harness business in Hamilton in 1897. He was born in Fayette County, in 1857 and came to Hamilton County in 1884. While living here he was in the livery stable business, undertaking business, and furniture business before starting his saddle and harness shop. "His place of business is a commodious rock building, two stories high, on the north side of the squre that he had constructedwith special regard to his business," says the 1897 Herald. The Strand Theatre, operated by Harold Stroud, is now (1938) located in that building.

Mr. Taylor was the father of Mrs. Jessie Rigney of near Hamilton.
