The Herald of 1897 had the following to say of Arthur Eidson:
"Our present county attorney is a young man who in a very few
years has stepped into the arena of professional life at a single stride
by being elected to the office of county attorney over the late incumbent
by a large majority. He is a son of J. A. Eidson, Esq., who stands at the
head of the local bar of this county. He was born in 1875 and attended the
local schools, assisting his father a Portion of this time in his farm and
stock business. Four years ago he matriculated in the Southwestern

University at Georgetown, where he remained two years. He began to
prepare himself for the legal profession soon after, and in 1896 came
before the public as a candidate for county attorney, to which he was
elected."
Mr. Eidson is still practicing law in Hamilton (1938), and is one of
the best known attorneys in Central Texas.
