EDWARD A. "ED" PERRY

Ed A. Perry was founder, president, and security guard (with the six-shooter on his desk) of Perry National Bank.  Mr. Perry's office, on a raised area in the northwest corner of the bank, was separated from the bank lobby by a marble fence with a swinging  wooden gate.  The gun was always on his desk.

Mr. Perry wore his gun as he made daily visits to the post office to retrieve money from the Federal Reserve Bank in Dallas.  He followed the same prescribed route each day from the bank to the post office and then back to the bank.
