Keith Delton Bynum, 62, died at Hamilton Jan. 9, 2004. Funeral services were held Jan. 11 at the Riley Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jim Clifton officiating. Burial followed in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery at Pottsville.
 
Mr. Bynum was born May 13, 1941 at Hamilton the son of William Ross Bynum and Celia Melviney Northcutt Bynum. He entered the Army to serve his country in June 1958, completing his active duty and reserve duty in May of 1964. On Jan. 27, 1962 at Goldthwaite, he was married to Julia Ann Wendland. Mr. Bynum worked for Central Freight Lines in Fort Worth where he rose from dock hand to third in command of center then he was promoted to second in command of the Central Freight office in Houston. After 16 years with Central Freight Lines he operated his own trucking company prior to moving to Hamilton. Mr. Bynum served with the Hamilton County Sheriff Department as a dispatcher, jailer and deputy. For a number of years he worked for Diamond S Trucking as their dispatcher and assisting his wife in delivering newspapers to the Hamilton area. He was a member of Goldthwaite Masonic Lodge # 694 and the Trinity Lutheran Church at Pottsville.
 
He is preceded in death by his parents, one sister and seven brothers.
 
Survivors include his wife Julia Ann Bynum of Pottsville, three children, Steven Patrick Bynum, Connie Sue Lee and husband Bobby, all of Hamilton and Raye Ann Bynum of Krum; four grand-children, Keith Issac Bynum, Jasmine Marie Bynum, Lindsay Ann Lee and Ryan Mathew Lee as well as a number of nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
 
Pallbearers were Toby Logan, Dean Logan, Joe Surley, Holly May, Ryan Lee, Roy Reinert, Keith Issac Bynum and Josh Harris. Riley Funeral Home
 

EDMONDSON, JOE DONALD "DONNIE"

Joe Donald (Donnie) Edmondson, 64, of Hamilton, died Dec. 2. Funeral services were held Dec. 4 2002 at the Hilltop Baptist Church in Hamilton with Rev. John Farris officiating. Interment was in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Pottsville, Texas. 

Mr. Edmondson was born July 29, 1938 at Gatesville, Texas to Bryon Lattie Edmondson and Trula Erwin Edmondson. 

He graduated from Itasca High School in 1957. He was an insurance salesman for 30 years. On January 3, 1976 he was married to Ruby Wendland at Fort Worth. He was a member of the Baptist Church. 

Survivors include his wife, Ruby Edmondson of Hamilton; three children, Wayland Edmondson of Fort Worth, Quata Baggett and husband Paul of Joshua; Bryon Edmondson of Fort Worth; two step children, Eddie Wuistinger and his wife Joyce of Fort Worth and Becky Singleton and her husband Keith of Waxahachie; eight grandchildren; four greatgrandchildren and one sister Cherri Medcalf and husband Dwayne of Tolar. 

He is preceded in death by his parents and one brother Gene Edmondson. 

Pallbearers were Kevin Robinson, Steve Bynum, Ryan Lee, Steve Erwin, Josh Terrell and Curtis Wendland. Honorary Pallbearers were Chad Robinson, Greg Carmushch, Roy Reinert and Keffer Bynum.

GOERDEL, CLARENCE A.

Clarence A. Goerdel 74, died January 25, 2003 in a Waco Hospital. Funeral services were held Monday January 27, 2003 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Pottsville with burial following in the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery with Pastor Peter K. Anderson officiating.

Mr. Goerdel was born August 5, 1928 at Indian Gap, Texas, the son of Otto and Hilda Marwitz Goerdel.

He was baptized September 9, 1928 at Priddy, Texas and confirmed November 22, 1942 at Trinity Lutheran Church at Pottsville, Texas. He served his country serving in the occupation force in Germany and he served in Korea. He was a farmer and former dairyman.

He was married to LaVerna Bubert at St. Paul Lutheran Church at Shive on October 11, 1953.

He is preceded in death by his parents and one brother Lemund Goerdel.

Survivors include his wife, of Pottsville; five children, John Goerdel, Ruth Stegemoller and her husband Tom, James Goerdel and his wife Lisa, David Goerdel, and Maria Feist and her husband Doug; seven grandchildren; Blake Goerdel, Jessica Goerdel, Adam Stegmoller, Taylor Goerdel, Jake Goerdel, Jordan Feist and Meghan Goerdel; one sister, Lorine Peters, and two brothers Calvin Goerdel and Auline Goerdel.

Pallbearers were Pat Leary, Tim Goerdel, Blake Goerdel, Andy Goerdel, Pete Goerdel, Samuel Goerdel, Adam Stegemoller and Alvin Bubert.

Hilda Marie Goerdel, 92 of Hamilton died Aug. 14, 2000 in Hamilton General Hospital. Funeral services will be held Thursday, Aug. 17 at 10 a.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Pottsville with Pastor Peter Anderson officiating. 

She is survived by four children and their spouses, Clarence and LaVerna Goerdel of Pottsville, Lorine and Otto Peters of Grand Prairie, Calvin and Donna Goerdel of Austin, A. Robert and Shirley Goerdel of Llano, daughter-in-law Joanne Goerdel of Hamilton; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grand-children; two sisters, Lydia Klatt of Aleman and Leona Eilers of Hamilton; a brother, B.J. Marwitz and a number of nieces and nephews and friends. 

Pallbearers were Helen Goerdel, Ruth Stegemoller, Sharon Leary, Maria Feist, Angie Goerdel, Lisa Goerdel, Angela Goerdel, Marla Goerdel and Holley Goerdel. Honorary pallbearers were Elizabeth Beasley and Michelle Goerdel.

David E. Goerdel, 46, died June 7, 2005. Funeral services were held June 10 in the Trinity Lutheran Church in Pottsville with Pastor Herbert Lammert officiating. Burial followed in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery.
 
He was born February 20, 1959 in Hamilton, the son of Clarence and LaVerna Bubert Goerdel. He graduated from Pottsville High School in 1977 and attended T.S.T.I in Waco, studying auto mechanics.
 
He loved to do mechanical work helping family and friends with their needs. He worked in utility construction wiring towns to receive television cable. David loved his family, pestering and cutting up with them and he loved to cook.
 
Survivors include two children, Blake Goerdel and Meghan Goerdel of Hamilton; a sister, Maria Feist of Comanche; two brothers, John Goerdel of Show-low, Ariz. and James Goerdel of Pottsville and a close friend, Dianne.
 
He is preceded in death by his father, Clarence Goerdel and a sister, Ruth Stegemoller. Pallbearers were Jared Marwitz, Trace Barclay, Kenneth Barclay, Alvin Bubert, Don Partin and Coan Bateman.
 
Honorary Pallbearers were: Charles Finley and James Ivey.

GOERDEL, LEMUND EDWARD LOUIS 
12/23/1999

Lemund Edward Louis Goerdel, 73, died Dec. 19 in his home following a lengthy illness. Services are set for Thursday, Dec. 23 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Pottsville with Pastor Peter K. Anderson officiating. Burial will be in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery.

Mr. Goerdel was born Aug. 6, 1926 at Indian Gap, the son of Otto Henry and Hilda Marwitz Goerdel.

He was a graduate of Pottsville High School, a 1950 graduate of Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Science degree in agronomy. He was a veteran of the Navy serving during World War II.

He was married to Joanne Kuhlmann on June 29, 1952 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Pottsville.

He retired from the U.S.D.A. where he was a soil conservationist. He served as a team leader for the Great Plains Water Shed Project Environmental Assessment Team covering ten states.

He was a guest speaker in many schools throughout Texas, sharing geology with the children. He and his wife were also very active with the Lutheran Youth League as sponsors for many years in Waco. He loved the outdoors, with fly-fishing in Colorado one of his favorite hobbies.

Survivors include his wife; his mother, Hilda Goerdel of Clifton; two daughters, Helen Goerdel of Hamilton and Elizabeth and husband Earnest Beasley of May Hill, NM; one grandchild, Morgan Beasley of May Hill, NM; a sister, Lorine and husband Otto Peters of Grand Prairie; three brothers, Clarence Goerdel and wife LaVerna of Hamilton, Calvin Goerdel and wife Donna of Cedar Park and Auline "Robert" Goerdel and wife Shirley of Llano; numerous aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, cousins and a host of friends.

Pallbearers were Jeffrey Bricker, James Goerdel, Samuel Goerdel, Tim Goerdel, Sarah Kaiser, David Kuhlmann, Jason Leary and Vern Wallace.

The family has designated Trinity Lutheran Church, Pottsville, Texas general fund; Hamilton, Pottsville and Shive volunteer fire departments for memorials.

 

 HOHERTZ, MARTIN WALTER

Martin Walter Hohertz, 87, of Pottsville, died November 17, 2002, in Hamilton. Funeral services were held Nov. 19 at the Trinity Lutheran Church at Pottsville with Pastor Peter Anderson officiating, Burial was in the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery. 

He was born May 19, 1915, three miles north of Priddy on the family farm in Mills County, the son of Herman and Jennie Clara Petrick Hohertz. 

Mr. Hohertz was baptized into the family of God and confirmed his faith in 1930 at St. John's (now Zion) Lutheran Church in Priddy. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Pottsville for 62 years. He was married to Mattie Augusta Stegemoller on Sept. 8, 1940, in Trinity Lutheran Church at Pottsville. 

Mr. Hohertz worked in construction most of his life, first building houses in Mills and Hamilton County communities. After his marriage, the couple moved to Temple and he worked in civil service doing hospital maintenance and construction at McClosky V.A. Hospital. They moved to Dallas in the fifties where he worked in construction and as a building superintendent for many years, also working in San Antonio, Kerrville and Colorado on jobs for a Dallas based firm. 

Mr. Hohertz was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Jennie Hohertz; three brothers Ewald, Albert and Herbert; and a sister Ada. 

Survivors include his wife; five nieces, Mildred Hohertz Peters, Wanda Hohertz Muehlbrad, Avelyn Hohertz Moore, Carolyn Stegemoller Williams, and Lacrecia Stegemoller; three nephews, Daryle Hohertz, Bobby Gene Hohertz, and  Louis O. Stegemoller and a number of great nieces and nephews. 

Pallbearers were Johnny Peters, Emory Muehlbrad, Louis O. Stegemoller, Louis O. Stegemoller Jr., Ronald H. Williams, Tommy Stegemoller, Glen Stegemoller, Monroe Schulz and Johnnie Stegemoller. Honorary Pallbearers: Daryle Hohertz and Bobby Gene Hohertz

KARASEK, MINNIE JULIA (WENDLAND) 

Minnie Julia Karasek, 80, died May 13, 2001 in the Goodall-Witcher Nursing Center in Clifton. Funeral services were held May 15 in the Trinity Lutheran Church at Pottsville with Pastor Peter Anderson officiating. Burial was in the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery. 

She was born Feb. 19, 1921 at Pottsville, the daughter of Auto G. and Julia Albrecht Wendland. She was married to John Perry Karasek on Feb. 10, 1942 at Shive. He preceded her in death on Aug. 26, 1963. 

Mrs. Karasek was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a retired seamstress, having worked in the clothing manufacturing business. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. 

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband a grandson, three sisters and two brothers. Survivors include her four children, Velma Whitney and Joyce Johnson, both of Iredell, Kenneth Karasek of Granbury and David Karasek of Tyler; two sisters, Emma Jahns of Hamilton, Bertha Boykin of Carthage and a brother, Auto Wendland of Hamilton; eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

LUCAS, HELEN LOUISE ELIZABETH (RABBE)

Helen Louise Elizabeth Lucas, 95, died Nov. 25, 2003. Funeral services were held Nov. 29 at the Trinity Lutheran Church at Pottsville with Pastor Peter Anderson officiating. Burial followed in the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery. 

She was born April 24, 1908 at Hope, NM, the daughter of Carl and Lena Jahns Rabbe. Mrs. Lucas was baptized April 24, 1914 at St. Jacobs Lutheran Church at Wuthrich and confirmed May 25, 1923 at St. Johannes at New Bern both in Williamson County. She was married to Gutav Edward Lucas On October 15, 1936 at St. Paul Lutheran Church at Shive. He preceded her in death May 15, 1994. 

She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother as well as a helpmate to her husband working on the farm, attending to the household and raising a family. For a number of years she cooked at the Pottsville school and later worked as housekeeper for Dr. C. B. Cathey family. She was member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She is preceded in death by her parents; a son, Milton Lucas; three sisters, Lena, Lydia and Ester and two brothers Charlie and Otis. 

Survivors include a daughter, Etheline Surley and her husband Joe of Pottsville; one son, Wilford Lucas and his wife Priscilla of McAllen; nine grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

MARWITZ, MATHILDA ALICE (STEGEMOLLER) (WAGNER)

The Hamilton Herald-News July 29, 2004 

Mathilda Alice Marwitz, 89, died in Lampasas July 25. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. July 28 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Pottsville with Pastor Perter K. Anderson officiating. Burial wilkl follow in the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery. 

Mrs. Marwitz was born June 8, 1915 in Washington County, the daughter of William Stegemoller and Henrietta Schultz Stegemoller. 

On October 17, 1935 she was married to to Henry L. Marwitz. He preceded her in death on January 23, 1994. 

Mrs. Marwitz was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two sisters, Ella Hopper and Nelda Kunkel and one brother Roy Stegemoller. 

Survivors include two children, a son Alton Marwitz and his wife Carole of Lampasas; a daughter, Linda Garza and her husband Marvin of Austin; five grandchildren, Greg Marwitz, Doug Marwitz, Glenn Garza, Lynnette May, Melannie Clack and nine great-grandchildren. 

Pallbearers were Greg Marwitz, Doug Marwitz, Glenn Garza, Larry Clack, W.J. Hopper and John Thornton.

Gertrude (Witzsche) Menzdorf, 94, of Garden Ridge died June 9, 2000 at Rosewood Rehabilitation and Care Center in Converse. Funeral services were held June 12 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Pottsville with the Rev. Douglas J. Schoelles and the Rev. Peter K. Anderson officiating. Burial was in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Pottsville.

She was born June 15, 1905 in Bell County, the daughter of Robert Witzsche and Minnie Henrietta (Kauitzsche) Witzsche. She was married to August Ernest "Tucker" Menzdorf on Jan 7, 1925 in St. Paul Lutheran Church in Shive. He preceded her in death on Jan 10, 1972.

Mrs. Menzdorf was a retired cafeteria manager for Odessa Public School System. She was a member of Triumphant Lutheran Church in Garden Ridge and was active with many church activities, especially when she lived in Odessa and was a member of Evangelical Lutheran Church.

She was preceded in death by a son, Calvin Curtis Menzdorf; three brothers, Adolph, August and O. L. Witzsche and four sisters, Ella Menzdorf, Ida Napier, Lucy Witzsche and Dora Spivey.

Survivors include her daughter, Verda Marie Montoya and husband Andrew of San Antonio; a sister, Edna Robertson of Goldthwaite; a brother, Paul Witzsche of Pottsville; two grandsons, Robert Montoya of Albuquerque, NM and Mark Alvin Montoya of Boise Idaho; a granddaughter, Sandra Lynn Montoya of Albuquerque, NM; a great-grandson, Andrew Eric Yoder of Albuquerque, NM and numerous nieces and nephews.

 Eda Rozella Nichter Reinert, 95, of Hamilton died Sept. 1, 2003, at Hamilton. Funeral services were held Sept. 4, at Zion Lutheran Church in Priddy with Rev. Donald Kingman officiating. Burial followed in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery at Pottsville. 

She was born May 9, 1908, in the Shive community, the daughter of Henry and Augusta Ising Nichter. In 1928 she was married to William F. (Willie) Reinert. He preceded her in death on June 23, 1960. 

Mrs. Reinert was a homemaker, devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a member of the Eastern Star chapter at Hamilton and the Zion Lutheran Church at Priddy. 

Survivors include two sons, William H. Reinert and his wife Carol of Midland and Wayne C. Reinert and his wife of Weatherford; eight grandchildren; nine great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. 

She is preceded in death by her husband; one daughter, Ella Mae Jeske; one sister Leota Gromatazky; two brothers, Lawrence and Rubert Nichter. 


Pallbearers were John Reinert, Will Reinert, Quay Reinert, Charles Reinert, Eddie Abdou, Cecil Wenzel, Luther Nichter and Gary Nichter. Honorary Pallbearer was Philip Abdou.

REINERT, FLETA MARIE (SWANSON)

Fleta Marie Reinert, 77, died Feb. 2 at the Hamilton General Hospital. Graveside services were Feb. 7 at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Pottsville with Rev. Timothy Carr officiating.

She was born Aug. 23, 1922 on the Wagner Ranch in Wichita County, the daughter of John Andrew Swanson and Mattie Viola Riggs Swanson.

She was married to Herman Reinert on May 9, 1969 in Goldthwaite. He preceded her in death on June 15, 1997.

Mrs. Reinert was a homemaker, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She worked as a waitress and cook for 32 years.

Her husband and an infant son, Arthur Leo precede her in death.

Survivors include a daughter, Pat Palmer of Buchannan Dam; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, many friends and extended family.

Irene Selma Rudolph 89, of Hamilton died Jan. 28, 2003 at Hamilton. Funeral services were held Jan. 30, 2003 at Trinity Lutheran Church at Pottsville with Pastor George Fischler officiating. Burial followed in the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery at Pottsville.

Mrs. Rudolph was born June 1, 1913 at Nimrod, Texas to Charles and Hulda Ida Nerretting Reich. She was married to George Adolph Rudolph on June 2, 1935 at Carlton. He preceded her in death on July 3, 1971.

Mrs. Rudolph was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She worked at Patty's of Texas as a seamstress for thirty years. She was a member of the Home Demonstration Club and the Trinity Lutheran Church.

Survivors include six children and their spouses, Charles George Rudolph and wife Marjorie, Margaret Marie Maggard and her husband Bob, Carolyn Ann Barnard and her husband Harry, Clara Ruth Kelley and her husband LeRoy, Emmie Lou Weaver and her husband Loren and Don Carroll Rudolph and his wife Debbie; ten grandchildren; nine great- grandchildren; three sisters, Lillie Bottlinger, Leona Miller, Helen Limmer; two brothers, Floyd Reich and Johnny Reich.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one grandson Stephen Maggard; four brothers, Henry Reich, Charlie Reich, Avil Reich and Gottlieb.

Pallbearers were Robert Reich, Milton Bottlinger, Jerry Miller, Monroe Reich, John Wayne Reich, Gary Schoen, Marvin Schrank, Larry Mack Rudolph & Kenneth Waggener.

SCHULZ, MELVIN OTTO

Melvin Otto Schulz, 74, died Wednesday, Nov. 11. 

Services were Saturday, Nov. 14, in the Riley Funeral Home chapel with Pastor Nancy Lund officiating. Burial was in the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery at Pottsville. 

Mr. Schulz was born Feb. 13, 1924, at Pottsville, the son of Hugo Paul and Martha Selma Zimmerman Shulz. He was a lifetime resident of Hamilton County, a farmer and a rock mason. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. He was preceded in death by a brother, Carl Bernard Schulz, in 1939. 

Survivors include a sister, Mildred Riewe of League City; two nieces, Clarice Brewer and Regena McMurrough; a great-nephew, Dan-iel McMurrough; and two great-nieces, Erin McMurrough and Holly Brewer. 

Pallbearers were Monroe Shulz, Charles Schulz, Clint Pemberton, Gary Buckner, Joe Sommerfeld, Mark Jackson, Huland Stephens and Tom Stegemoller. 

STEGEMOLLER, DORIS (RIEWE)

Doris R. Stegemoller, 63, died July 7, 2004 in Arlington. A memorial service was held July 9 in Advent Lutheran Church in Arlington. Funeral services were held in the Trinity Lutheran Church in Pottsville with Pastor Paul Senff officiating. Burial followed in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery. Mrs. Stegemoller was born Nov. 1, 1940 at Pottsville, the daughter Arthur William and Emma Seilheimer Riewe. 

She was baptized December 22, 1940 at Trinity Lutheran Church by Rev. G. C. Senff and confirmed on July 31, 1955 at Trinity Lutheran Church by Rev. F. L. Bracher. 

In May of 1958 she graduated from Pottsville High School and continued her education at Texas Woman’s University at Denton, Texas earning a B.S. Degree in Home Economics Education in 1962. In February of 1963 she went to work as Home Economist for Lone Star Gas Company in Fort Worth. In August of 1964 she began teaching the eighth grade Home Economics at Carter Jr. High School in Arlington. 

On September 7, 1963 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Pottsville she was married to Johnnie Stegemoller. Mrs. Stegemoller was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother homemaker. She is preceded in death by her parents and two brothers Eldor and Tillman Riewe. 

Survivors include her husband, Johnnie Stegemoller of Arlington; two sons, Michael Stegemoller and his wife Jenni-fer; three grandchildren, Nikota Stegemoller, Sierra Blue Stegemoller and Tristan Stegemoller, all of Pottsville and son Jason Stegemoller of Canyon as well as a host of aunts, nieces and nephews. 

Pallbearers were Larry Dreyer, David Jeske, Richard Jeske, Michael Riewe, Kenneth Sharp, Noah Smith, Mark Vi-rant and David Riewe.

STEGEMOLLER, RUTH ELIZABETH (GOERDEL)

Ruth Elizabeth Stegemoller, 49, died at her residence Jan. 24, 2005. Funeral services were set for 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2005 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Pottsville with Rev. Calvin Goerdel and Rev. Peter Anderson officiating. Burial will follow in the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery. She was born Sept. 17, 1955 at Gatesville, the daughter of Clarence and LaVerna Bubert Goerdel. She was married to Tommy (Tom) Stegemoller on Oct. 5, 1974 at Hamilton.
 
Mrs. Stegemoller was a loving and devoted wife and mother. She had many talents ranging from bookkeeping, working livestock on the ranch to laying rock around their home. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Pottsville. She helped with Sunday School, Bible School, Christmas programs and she served as a council member. She was preceded in death by her father.
 
Survivors include her husband; a son, Adam Stege-moller; her mother, LaVerna Bubert Goerdel, all of Pottsville; a sister, Maria Feist of Comanche; three brothers, John Goerdel and his wife Leighnae of Showlow, Ariz., James Goerdel and his wife Lisa of Pottsville and David Goerdel and his wife Diane of Aleman.
 
Pallbearers were: Jack Applewhite, Roger Zimmerman, Sonny Stephens, Larry Eilers, Ron Karasek and Everett Vandiver.

 Honorary pallbearer was Johnny Wagner. WENDLAND, ARTHUR EDWIN

Arthur Edwin (Slim) Wendland, 84, died Oct. 11, 2003 at Hamilton. Funeral services were held Oct. 12 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Pottsville with burial following in the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery with Pastor Peter K. Anderson officiating. 

Mr. Wendland was born Dec. 3, 1918 on the family farm located between Hamilton and Evant. At the age of seven the family moved to their farm in the Springdale community located between Pottsville and Shive. 

He was baptized April 13, 1919 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Shive by Pastor Wehmeyer and confirmed at St. Paul Lutheran Church. He was a member of Trin-ity Lutheran Church in Pottsville for 51 years. 

On February 6, 1942, Mr. Wendland was called for active duty during World War II. He served in Normandy, Northern France, Ardennes, Rineland and Central Europe attaining the rank of S/Sgt. He also served as a German interpreter in a prisoner of war camp for 6 months and received his honorable discharge Oct. 20, 1945. He was a member of Priddy American Legion Post 487 from the beginning of organization until the last 2 years when his health failed. 

On October 28, 1948 Mr. Wendland was married to Bernice Kunkel at Zion Lutheran Church in Priddy, Texas by Pastor Muelhbrad. 

They bought a farm 3-1/2 miles south of Pottsville where he enjoyed farming and ranching until retire-ment. He remained on this farm until his death. During this time he drove a school bus for the Pottsville School District for several years and worked part-time for the County of Hamilton for a few years. His favorite pastime was going fishing with his grandson. 

Survivors include his wife, Bernice of Pottsville; one daughter, Janet Adams and husband Bill Adams of Shive; one grandson, Clint Adams of College Station; one sister, Erna Schneider of Burleson; and nieces, nephews and cousins. 

He is preceded in death by his parents, William (Bill) and Anne Menzdorf Wendland; two brothers Walter and Fred Wendland. 

Pallbearers: Joe Sommerfeld, David West, Darrell Schneider, Harold Schneider, Clint Adams, Jeff Kee, James William Ivey.

WIESEPAPE JUNE (CHAPMAN) 

The Hamilton Herald-News January 13, 2005 

June Chapman Wiesepape, 75, died on January 8, after a recent battle with cancer. Funeral services were held Jan. 11, 2005 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Pottsville with Pastor Peter K. Anderson officiating. Burial followed in the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery at Pottsville. 

Mrs. Wiesepape was born on Nov. 19, 1929 in Ballinger, the daughter of Sid and Lorene Chapman. She was baptized and a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Pottsville. 

She was married to Curtis Mayfield Wiesepape on March 29, 1947. Their marriage was blessed with three children: Karran, Sandra, and Ronald.
 

The couple lived in Ballinger where Mrs. Wiesepape raised her three children and took care of their home. They later moved to Priddy and bought a farm at Indian Gap where they have lived for the past 45 years. 

Mrs. Wiesepape worked many years for Pete and Lois Tiemann at the Toddy House. She also worked for Hill Country Community Action where she drove the HOP. She provided assistance for the elderly, as well as the small children in the community. The school children she drove for referred to her affectionately as June Bug. She was a loving and caring person who was always there for her family and friends when they needed her. 


Mrs. Wiesepape was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers-in-law. 

Survivors include her husband, Curtis; her children, Karran and Tommy Petett of Crowley, Sandra and Marvin Witte of Hamilton, and Ronald Wiesepape of Priddy; a sister, JoAnn Herring of San Angelo; a brother, Glen Chapman and wife Kathryn of Kerrville; a sister-in-law, Irene Manske of Adkins; eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren and numerous relatives and friends. 

Pallbearers were Bradley Petett, Shelley Voges, Jason Evans, Amy Williams, Lisa Petett, Robin Witte, Jodi Evans, Brian Williams, Derek Voges, Kacie Williams.

WUISTINGER, LORENE MINNIE (DRUECKHAMKER) 

The Hamilton Herald-News 30 December, 2004 

Lorene Minnie Drueckhammer Wuistinger, 81, died Dec. 20, 2004 at Hamilton. Funeral services were held Dec. 23 in the Trinity Lutheran Church at Pottsville with Pastor Peter K. Anderson officiating. Burial followed in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery at Pottsville. 

Mrs. Wuistinger was born November 18, 1923 at Hamilton the daughter of Henry and Katie Tiemann Drueckhammer. She was baptized Dec. 30, 1923 at St. John’s Lutheran Church at Priddy by Pastor Rudy Becker. She was confirmed May 22, 1938 at Zion Lutheran Church at Priddy by Pastor A.H. Kluge. 

Mrs. Wuistinger graduated from the Priddy School. She was married to Benjamin Wuistinger on Dec. 12, 1947 at Zion Lutheran Church in Priddy in a ceremony officiated by Pastor Muhlbrad. The couple bought a farm east of Pottsville where they made their home. Mrs. Wuistinger was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was a homemaker and worked for two years at Patties of Texas. When Danny started school she went to work in the Pottsville school lunch room for twenty years. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church. 

Survivors include a son, Danny Wuistinger and wife Deborah of Bedford; two grandsons, Michael and Derrick; a granddaughter Allison and great-granddaughter MacKenzie. 

She is preceded in death by her husband and a brother, Norman Drueckhammer. Pallbearers were Eddy Kruger, Rusty Hoya, Darman Wagner , Raymond Tiemann, Doug Payne.
