PILGRIM’S REST BAPTIST CHURCH, #1

1878--1883

 

[I have added #1, #2, as a tool to differentiate these churches. While they could have been the same church, the apparent locations make them appear to be different churches.]

 

The first Pilgrim’s Rest Baptist Church to participate in Hamilton County Baptist Association from 9 September, 1878, until dissolved in 1883 was located at Center City which was in Hamilton County until 1887. This church was founded by D. I. Haralson in 1878.

 

Pastors included:

D. I. Haralson, 1879

N. J. Ethredge, 1881

A. R. Watson, 1882

 

Church clerk in 1881 was S. S. Ethredge.

 

Messengers to the annual association meeting were:

1878--D. I. Haralson

1879--S. Gay;

1881--N. J. Ethredge

1882--Elder N. J. Ethridge, Breth. H. Carroll, W. W. Williams.
