GRANT BROTHERS
_____
E. D. and R. J. Grant, members of the Grocery firm of
Grant Brothers, on the north side of the square in Hamilton are native
Texans. They were reared in Gatesville, Coryell county, and educated in
Texas schools.
Their parents were outstanding pioneers of Coryell
County and gave generously of their time and labor means to the upbuilding
on broad and permanent lines, the town and community they had chosen as
their home. Their parents in the wisdom of their experience trained their
family along the same principles of upbuilding and permanency. Such
substantial background places Grant Brothers in the front ranks of the
business men of the town.
The two brothers came to Hamilton in 1906 and in 1925
opened a grocery business which through the intervening years they have
successfully guided through the most difficult financial period in
history.
They carry a select stock of staple and fancy groceries
that are sufficient in quality and quantity to meet the requirements of
the most fastidious buyers and are prepared to give prompt and efficient
service.
They still occupy the building where they first
commenced their business venture in Hamilton.
E. D. Grant married Miss Winnie Shipman of Hamilton and
R. J. Grant married Miss Vera Monday, also of Hamilton. Both of the young
women are native Texans and take a lively interest in the affairs of the
business and are active in all of the civic and social interest of their
hometown and like their husbands are very worthwhile citizens of Hamilton.
