Dr. Robert Fowler was born and reared in west Tennessee. The father and
family moved to Booneville, Arkansas in 1880. Robert Fowler graduated from
the Methodist College of the Ft. Smith district at Booneville after four
years attendance. He then read medicine two years under a preceptor at
Booneville and attended the Medical department of the Arkansas University
for three years, graduating in 1889. After practicing one year he moved to
Comanche County, Texas, where he carried on his profession for ten years.
He then moved 15 miles over into Hamilton County to Pottsville where he
practiced nearly twenty-five years. After being out of active practice a
few years because of broken health, he located in Hamilton, three years
ago and has been busy every day and happy among his friends.
During all of these years he has been a close student of all matters
pertaining to health, and has taken several postgraduate courses--seeking
to be able to give the best possible service.
His family consist of his wife and two sons: Dr. Paul Fowler, dentist
practicing his profession at Hamlin, Texas, and Brann Fowler, a
farmer-stockman living at Wildorado, Texas. Both sons are married; Paul
having three children and Brann one.
The doctor is an active member of the Church of Christ, and no sketch
of his life would be complete without mentioning the fact that he seeks to
make practical Christianity the foundation and fiber of his daily life.
