McGirk School had seven grades in 1911. Clyde Gardner and Miss Vera O’Neal were the teachers in McGirk School in 1924-25 and J. J. J. Newton, H. C. Cornelius, and C. N. McCasland were the school board. Others who taught at the McGirk School included: Geneva Sills and John Lipscomb Sills, Jr.
