Z. Karnes, 80, of Center City died Tuesday,
Sept. 11, in Temple's Scott and White Hospital. Funeral services were
held Thursday, Sept. 13, in Wilkins Chapel in Goldthwaite. Burial
followed in Goldthwaite Memorial Cemetery.
Mr. Karnes was born in Mills County on Dec.
7, 1898, to Frank and Frankie Karnes. On JUly 4, 1925, he married Louise
Kempskey in Goldthwaite. They moved to Center City where they lived all
their married life. He was a member of the Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife; and son and
daughter-in-law, Roscoe and Jean Karnes of Hamilton; one sister, Lela
Mays of Goldthwaite; four grandchildren, Larry Karnes of Madill, Okla.,
Jack Karnes of Arlington, Danny Karnes of Stephenville, and Mark Karnes
of Dallas, and six great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Maurice Knight, Deron
Coffman, Lewis Watson, George Hurst, Darrell Wayne Head, Charles Griffin
and Kenneth Hollum.
