Charles William Kelly, 68, died April 10, 2004 in Tyler. Funeral services were held at Lloyd James Funeral Home Chapel on April 13, with Rev. David Sheppard officiating. Burial was at Tyler Memorial Park. 

Mr. Kelly was born March 28, 1936 in Hamilton County. He was retired from American Airlines where he worked as maintenance crew chief. He was a member of Temple Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ava Holder Kelly in 1996. 

Survivors include his daughters, Deborah Kirkpatrick and husband Charles of Tokyo, TX; Brenda Clements and husband Robert of Azle, Shelly Martin and husband Wayne of Springtown, Melanie Shaw and husband Jimmy of Tyler, Vickie Shope of Tyler; a son, Ste-ven Dobbs and wife Donna of Whitehouse; a brother, John Kelly; sisters, Mary Jane Gardner and Ethel Lois Kirkland; a sister-in-law, Beth Holder of Tyler; 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. 

Pallbearers were Steven Dobbs, Brandon Blakely, Mike Blakely, Jim Shaw, Mark Higginbotham and Wayne Martin. 

Memorials may be made to the Salvation Army.

KEMP, ETOILE (BURNS)

Etoil Kenp of Burleson, formerly of Pottsville, died Jan. 28, 2005 in a Fort Worth hospital. Funeral services were held at First Baptist Church in Burleson on Jan. 31.

 
She was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Kenp and daughter Debra Sims. Survivors include a daughter, Gay Howard of Burleson, a son, James Kenp and wife Shirley of Kopperl; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church Building Fund, American Heart Association or American Cancer Association.

KIKER, VERA S.

Vera S. Kiker, 93, died June 15, 2003, in Lewes Convalescent Center in Lewes, Del. A family memorial service will be held in Comanche on July 12. 

She and her late husband, Oliver Leo Kiker, lived on a farm in Texas before she moved to Delaware. 

Survivors include a daughter, Paula Witt ; two sons, Oliver Leo Kiker and John Kiker ; nine grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. 

Memorials may be made to Delaware Hospice 600 Dupont Highway, Georgetown, Del. 19947.

KINKADE, CHARLES

Charles Kinkade, 68, of Comanche, died Feb. 25 in the Abilene Regional Medical Center. Funeral services were conducted Feb. 29 in the Hall and Sons Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bill Ellis officiating. Burial followed in the Sardis Cemetery. 

Mr. Kinkade was born Feb. 21, 1936 in Bonham, the son of Matthew Lee Kinkade and Gertrude Stone Kinkade. 

He had been a resident of Comanche for 40 years, moving from Fort Worth. He was a retired self-employed dry wall contractor and a Baptist. 

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Leon Kinkade and A.L. Kinkade and a sister, Gaynelle. 

Survivors include two sons, Charles (Doodle) Kinkade and wife Janis; Joe Kinkade; two daughters, Cheryl Galloway and husband Kevin and Elizabeth Sliger; three brothers, Jerry Kinkade and Harvey Kinkade, and Kenneth Kinkade ; two sisters, Ann Ryder and Peggy Garrett; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

KNEBEL, EARL H. 

January 6, 2005 The Hamilton Herald-News 

Earl H. Knebel, 84, died Dec. 1, 2004, in Chapel Hill, N.C. after an extended illness. Memorial services were held at Greenwood Garden Chapel. 

Mr. Knebel was born May 17, 1920. During his 41-year career in education he served as a high school vocational agriculture teacher, coach, school superintendent and university professor. He spend 28 years at Texas A&M University as a professor of agriculture education with 23 of those years as chairman of the department until his retirement in 1984. 

Early in his career he taught vocational agriculture at Hamilton High School, where he also assisted the late Pete Roach coaching the Bulldog football team. 

He was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Dorothy Fogelin, who was from Fort Worth. Survivors include: a daughter, Karlene Knebel; a son-in-law, Richard Mann; granddaughter, Lilli Mann; sister, Mae Yonce; and brothers, Harvey Knebel and William Knebel.

KOPP, HERMAN HAROLD, JR.

Herman Harold Kopp Jr., 71, of Priddy, died Dec. 27, 2004 at his home. Funeral services was set to be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 30 at Zion Lutheran Church in Priddy with Pastor Don Kingman officiat-ing. Burial will be in St. John Cemetery in Priddy. 

He was born Aug. 15, 1933 in Priddy, the son of Herman K. Kopp and Louise Seilheimer Kopp. He was married to Frances Niemann on June 8, 1951 in Priddy. 

He was baptized Sept. 3, 1933 at Zion Lutheran Church in Priddy and confirmed March 1948 at Zion Lutheran Church in Priddy. He graduated from Priddy High School in 1950. 

Mr. Kopp lived in Odessa from 1963 until 1983 and was director of service from Broncho Chevrolet. In 1984 he moved back to Mills County where he enjoyed farming and ranching. He served as general manager at Lawson Implement in Goldthwaite, retiring in June, 2003. He served in the Army in the Korean War in 1954-1956. 

He was preceded in death by his parents and his step-mother. 

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Lynn and husband Neil Muxworthy of Hamilton; two sons, David and wife Sheryle Kopp of Highland Village and Anthony Wayne Kopp of Cleburne; grandchildren, Jill and Keaton Muxworthy and Tanner and Taylor Kopp; a sister, JoAnn and husband Richard Jeske of Arlington; a step sister, Wynell and husband John McGalliard of Pass Chris-tian, MS. 

Pallbearers will be Andy Schwartz, Greg Niemann, Doug Feist, Rick Jeske, Tim Jeske, Steve Niemann, Tanner Kopp and Keaton Muxworthy. 

Honorary pallbearers will be Truman Marwitz, Billy Lawson, Bob Gautier and William Hall.

KUNKEL, CLIFTON O.

Funeral services for Clifton O. Kunkel were conducted April 7, 2004. He was born July 10, 1930 in Hamilton, the son of Alvin and Ida (Krueger) Kunkel. He attended Lutheran day day school at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Aleman, attended and graduated Concordia College in Austin followed by four years at Condordia Teachers College, Seward, Neb. where he graduated with a B.S. in Education. 

Mr. Kunkel did his student teaching at Trinity Lutheran in Waltham, Minn. and was installed into the teaching ministry of the LCMS at St. Mark's Lutheran Church on July 18, 1952. He later moved to Redeemer Lutheran School in Denver where he served as principal, followed by a transfer to Zion Lutheran in Ferguson, St. Louis, Mo. From there he returned to Denver at University Hills Lutheran. Upon retiring from the Lutheran Teaching Ministry, Mr. Kunkel and family owned and operated a very successful building maintenance service until his death. 

During his life, Mr. Kunkel served on various educational committees of the Colorado District of the LCMS, including being on the board of directors of Denver Lutheran High as well as a member of the school's Men's Athletic Club that sponsored one of his favorite interests, the annual barbecue at Denver Lutheran High for its 25-year life span raised substantial funds for the school. 

He was married to Ruby Marie Lange of Brighton, Colo. on June 8, 1952. Their union was blessed with three wonderful children, Byron, Keith and Elaine (Kunkel) Mulhern. He had two grandchildren, Joshua and Danielle. 

Mr. Kunkel's special interests were his lawn, garden and especially his roses and his support of Tiny Town, an amusement park between Denver and Conifer that is a charitable organization. Survivors include his wife; his son Byron; his daughter Elaine Mulhern, son-in-law, Ron Mulhern; grandchildren, Joshua and Danielle. 

Brothers and sisters include, Alton and wife Lenora of Lakewood, Colo.; Jess and wife Garda of Concordia, Mo.; Virgil and wife Sarah of Plainview; Gladys Kunkel of Lakewood; Dennis of Souix Falls, S.D.; Martin and wife Carolyn of Amarillo; Sarah (Kunkel) Fowler and husband Jim of Pearland and an Aunt Freida Miesner of Hamilton along with a number of nephews, friends and business associates.

KUNKEL, WILLARD L.

Willard L. Kunkel, 71, died May 4, 2004 at his home. Funeral services were held May 7 at Grace Lutheran Church in Fort Worth. Burial was at Laurel Land Memorial Park. 

Mr. Kunkel was born July 31, 1932 in Hamilton County, the son of Alfred and Alice Kunkel. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He worked for Central Freight Lines for 36 years. He was preceded in death by a son, Ricky Glenn Kunkel; two brothers and a sister. 

Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Norma Kunkel; a son, Ronnie Kunkel; a daughter, Karen Vaughan and husband Keith; a brother, Otis Kunkel; sisters, Bertha Belle Boelter and Lynell Martin and husband Johnny; grandchildren, Matt and April Vaughan; great-grandchildren, Dustin Vaughan and Manuel Acuna; an aunt, Frieda Meissner and numerous nieces and nephews.

KUYKENDALL, GUY W.

Guy W. Kuykendall died July 26, 2005 in Irving.
 
He was born in Hamilton County, the son of John T. and Susie Kiser-Kuykendall and lived his young life on the family's ranch. He later moved to Odessa where he settled with his wife, Beth Owens. Mr. Kuykendall was a retired postmaster. He served in the U.S. Air Force in the Korean War.
 
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Theresa Kuykendall-Baugus; his parents; two brothers, Robert and Ward Kuykendall and a sister, Dera Nell Kuykendall.
 
Survivors include his daughter, Kellie Lou Myers; a grandson, David Stone; a grand-daughter, Kimberlee Baugus; a great-granddaughter, Stokley Stone; a sister, Jessie Kuykendall-Endsley; seven nephews, six nieces; a sister-in-law, Waldeen Kuykendall of Gatesville and a cousin, Ruth Burns of Stephenville.
