Jonesboro School had eleven grades in 1933-34, but the eleventh grade was dropped in 1934-35 so that the school could be standardized with the state. Teachers in 1936 were P. T. Lemons, Superintendent; Menlo Holloway, Guy C. Hartgraves, Miss Georgia Franks, and Miss Delphia Farquhar. The Jonesboro School is physically in Hamilton County, however, many of its students live in Coryell County and it is legally a Coryell County school. Jonesboro is sixteen miles east of Hamilton. The Hamilton/Coryell County line is drawn through the town of Jonesboro.
