HAMILTON POST OFFICE
1874--

On 9 December, 1874, the Hampton Post Office closed and the Hamilton Post Office opened with Thomas D. Neel as postmaster. The Hampton Post Office which provided mail service to Hamilton. was opened in 1859, closed in 1866, and re-opened in 1871. All Southern post offices were closed during the Reconstruction period.
