Alvena Landua, 95, of Gatesville died Nov. 11, 2004 at a local care facility. Graveside services were held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov.
13 at Oakwood Cemetery in Hamilton with Brother David Diggs officiating.
Mrs. Landua was born Nov. 6, 1909 in Indian Gap, the daughter of Andrew Seilheimer and Annie Marie Niensted Seilheimer. She graduated from Conel School in the Shive community and later married Rube Landua on Sept 14, 1935. She attended St. Paul Lutheran Church as a child and was a member of Live Oak Baptist Church for several years. She was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her husband; a son, Elliott West Landua; four sisters and six brothers. Survivors include her sons, John Andrew Landua and wife Paula, Billy Landua and wife Jan; sister, Eleanora Landua; grandchildren, Waylan Landua, Cristie Pitman, Lynn Meyers, Denise Landua, Mary Jane Landua; 11 great-grandchildren and two
great-great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Vista Care Hospice or to Live Oak Baptist Church.
LANE, VELMA FAYE (HARLIEN) (JONES)

Velma Faye Jones Lane, 78, died Oct. 26, 2004 in Georgetown. Funeral services were held Oct. 30 with Rev. Keith Felton officiating. Burial following in Oakwood Cemetery.
She was born Oct. 1, 1926 in Hamilton County, the daughter of Willie and Josie Donald Harlien. On Oct. 1, 1942 she was married to Alga Lee Jones. He preceded her in death on October 19, 1967. She later married Bill Lane.
Mrs. Lane was a homemaker and a loving wife. She was also a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed raising birds that were later sold in pet stores.
Survivors include three children, Sandra Culbertson and Randall Jones, both of Georgetown and Robin Jones of Fort Worth; one brother Bill Charles Harlien of El Paso; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Lee Jones; one son, Ray Jones and two sisters Allie Fuqua and Gladys Fuqua.
Pallbearers were Wade Culbertson, Brian Jones, Bradley Jones, Brandon Jones and Melvin Price.
LAWRENCE, EDWIN RALPH

Edwin Ralph Lawrence, 84, of Hamilton, died in an
automobile accident on Friday, Aug. 26. Funeral services were held on
Sunday, Aug. 28, in the Riley Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tim Moody
officiating. Burial was in Oakwood Cemetery.
Mr. Lawrence was born in Hillsboro on April 7, 1904,
the son of the late Billy A. and Bertha Minot Lawrence. He had lived in
Hamilton since 1945. He married Henrietta Cade on June 19, 1931. He was a
1928 graduate of Texas A&M University. He was a retired County
Extension Agent. He was a member of the Rock House Masonic Lodge; he was a
Shriner; and he belonged to the First Baptist Church of Hamilton.
Survivors include his wife of Hamilton; a daughter
Myra Ann West... ...; a sister, Dot Waddell of California; four
grandchildren, Kathleen Slaughter, Edwin West, Teresa Mancuso, and Carson
West; and four great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Edward West, Carson West, Clyde
Raibourn, Bomer Harris, Jack Trammel, and Arvord Abernethy.
LAWSON, WILLIAM CHARLES "JUNE"
William Charles (June) Lawson, 51, prominent Hamilton
businessman, died in the Hamilton County General Hospital Dec. 28 at
7:30 PM. He had been ill for about three weeks.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Dec. 30, at 4:30
p.m. in the Park Heights Church of Christ with Minister Herman Beauchamp
officiating, assisted by Rev. Ernest DeWald. Interment was in
Oakwood Cemetery.
Mr. Lawson had many business interests here, the
principal one being the Lawson Implement Company, the John Deere agency,
which he owned and operated. The son of W. P. Lawson and Mattie Schwartz Lawson, he
was born in Hamilton County in the Shive community April 27, 1918, and
lived all of his life in this county. On June 2, 1940 he married
Miss Merle King. He was a World War II veteran. In April
1967, he retired form the Hamilton Volunteer Fire Department after 23
years of active duty. He was a member of the Park Heights Church
of Christ.
Surviving with his wife and parents are two daughters,
Mrs. Bob Gautier and Miss Jean Lawson, both of Hamilton; one son, Billy
Lawson of Hamilton and two sisters, Mrs. Mavis Fink and Miss Jo Lawson,
both of Dallas.
Serving as pallbearers were Melvin Pierson, Clifford
Conner, James Ted Conner, Jerry Massingill, Glen Riley, Jimmy Sommerfeld,
Farel Williams, and Charnie Raibourn.
Honorary pallbearers were Truett Townsend, Claud
Gautier, Dr. C.C. Cleveland, Charlie Truitt, Melvin Henkes, Hooker Revas
and John Dunlop.

LIVINGSTON, LYDIA HELEN EMILIE (SCHRADER)

Lydia Helene Emilie Livingston died in Hamilton on April 5, 2004. Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. April 8 in Oakwood Cemetery with Rev. Wesley Jones officiating. Mrs. Livingston was born November 1, 1909 in Pottsville, the third of eight children of Julius Heinrich and Anna Margaretha (Sammann) Schrader.
She was married to James Alfred Livingston on August 23, 1930 in Hamilton. He preceded her in death September 18, 1997.
Mrs. Livingston was baptized in the Trinity Lutheran Church in Pottsville on December 5, 1909 and confirmed in the Lutheran Church in Aleman on April 19, 1925. She later became a member of the Rock House Baptist Church in the community where she lived most of her life.
She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker. Mrs. Livingston was employed in Hamilton for many years with Patty’s of Texas. Her hobbies included gardening and quilting.
Besides her parents and husband she was preceded in death by three half-brothers, three half-sisters, four brothers and three sisters.
Survivors include two sons, James Alton Livingston and Jerry Wayne Livingston, both of Hamilton; a daughter, Charlene Rose and husband James Burtis; a granddaughter, Kim Rose Bryant and husband James Ernest
, James Michael Rose; three great-grandsons James Alexander Rose, Thomas Lee Rose and Logan Cole Rose
and many nieces, nephews and friends.

LUKER, CARL ERNEST

Carl Ernest Luker, 84, died June 19, 2004 at his home. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. June 24 at St. John Lutheran Church in Hamilton with Pastor Russell Nebhut officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery.
Mr. Luker was born in Romney on October 1, 1919, the son of Alvin F. and Bertha (Steffan) Luker. After the death of his mother, Mr. Luker's father married Emily Lehmann who raised Carl and his brothers and sisters.
Mr. Luker was one of seven children born to the Luker family. Shortly after the death of his mother, he and his siblings were sent to live with relatives until the time his father remarried. After two years the family was reunited and lived in Copperas Cove.
He was confirmed by Pastor L. J. Werner at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Copperas Cove on April 9, 1933 at the age of 13 years.
In May of 1941 Mr. Luker was drafted into the Army and eventually became part of the Army Corps of Engineers and was sent to Europe where he took part in the Battle of the Bulge. It was the responsibility of the Corps of Engineers to maintain the road system to facilitate the Allied advance as they pursued the German
retreat.
Carl was given a camera and told to take pictures along the way for documentation. This no doubt set him on course for a career in photography. Carl served in the Army Corps of Engineers until the end of the war and on May 13, 1945 he received an honorable
discharge.
After the war Carl, his sister, and a friend went to St. Louis to visit relatives. His cousins arranged for a blind date for Mr. Luker with Lou, who, he married 16 months later on October 2, 1949, at St. Luke's Lutheran Church in St. Louis, Mo.
Mr. Luker worked at the Fort Hood photo shop until the photography studio in Hamilton was offered for sale. The couple purchased the studio and moved to Hamilton in 1950 and continued in the photography business until 1985.
On Jan. 3, 1951 Carl and Lou joined St. John Lutheran Church in Hamilton where they have been active and faithful members to this very day.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Walter Luker and Clarence Luker.
Survivors include his wife, Luella Ida Luker; two sons, Gary Kent Luker and wife Denise of Richmond, and Dale Alan Luker of New York City; two daughters, Janice Kaye Atchison and husband Chip of Lewisville and Deborah Lynn Israelson and husband Doug of Fort Worth; seven grandchildren, Cory Raibourn, Dustin Richardson, Scott Luker, Lindsey Luker, Trae Atchison, Samantha Atchison and Haley Atchison; one great-grandchild, Devin Atchison; a brother, Martin Luker of Georgetown; three sisters, Margaret Jones of Bastrop, Emily Luker of Houston and Helen McSpadden of Gastonia, N.C.
Pallbearers will be Robert Rowe, Gary Schoen, Jerry Zschiesche, Mike Jones, Hugh L. Coston, Cory Raibourn and Scott Luker.

Eunece Jenet (Logan) Lundy, 90, died June 3 at the
Hamilton General Hospital. Funeral services were held June 5, 2000 at the
Riley Funeral Home Chapel with LaBarbara Carey and Rev. Marvin Andrews
officiating. Burial was in Oakwood cemetery in Hamilton. Mrs. Lundy was
born April 27, 1910 at Big Hill near Grosebeck in Limestone County the
daughter of Sam and Cora Champion Logan.
She retired from nursing having worked for Methodist
Hospital in Dallas and Mexia State School in Mexia.
Her parents, five sisters and three brothers precede her
in death.
Survivors include her two daughters, Shirley Ann
Shinault and Margie Jenelle (Nell) Clark, both of Hamilton; 10
grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren and a
sister in law, Ruby Logan, of Waco.
Pallbearers were Joe O'Bryant, Joe Davis, Greg Shinault,
Randy Shinault, Freddie Cowan, Wayland Stone, Gary Hodges and Aarron
Hodges.

LYKINS, EUNICE (CHANCY) SELLERS

Eunice Lykins Sellers, 88, died Jan. 25 at Hamilton
Healthcare Center. Graveside funeral services were held Jan. 28 at Oakwood
Cemetery with James E. Robertson officiating.
Mrs. Sellers was born May 28, 1911 in Coryell County,
the daughter of Amos Franklin Chancy and Sara Hester Moore Chancy.
She was married to Mitchell Lykins on Feb. 4, 1931 in
Lampasas County. He preceded her in death on May 2, 1968. She was married
to Dewey Sellers on Nov. 13, 1978 at Hamilton, he preceded her in death on
Dec. 5, 1998. She was a wife, companion, mother and a member of the
Primitive Baptist Church.
A brother, Irvin Chancy precedes her in death.
Survivors include a son, Mitchell T. Lykins and his
wife Jan of Hamilton; two granddaughters, Joy Alexander and her husband
John of Hamilton and Scherry Hermansen and her husband Lance of Grand
Island, Neb.; four great-grandchildren, Kristen, Jessica, Allyn and Thomas
Hermansen, all of Grand Island, Neb.; a sister, Alice Millsap of
Gatesville and a brother, Ray Chancy of Baker City, Ore.
