Oscar Perry Berry Jr., 66, of Hood River, Oregon, was
buried in the
Hamilton I.O.O.F. Cemetery Wednesday, May 21, after funeral services in
Riley
Funeral Chapel at 3:30 p.m. The Rev. Dale Yant officiated.
Mr. Berry passed away in a Veterans Administration
hospital at Portland,
Oregon, after a lengthy illness.
He was born in Hamilton County Oct. 11, 1913, a son of
Oscar Perry Berry,
Sr., and Myrtle White Berry. He served a career in the U.S. Marine
Corps,
seeing action in both World War II and the Korean Conflict.
His home has been in Hood River the past 26 years.
Survivors include one sister, Maxine Taylor of Artesia,
New Mexico; and
three brothers, Henry Stanford Berry of San Antonio, William A. Berry of
Amarillo, and Cad W. Berry of Evant.
Pallbearers were Brownie Dempster, Herman Walton,
Robert Williams, Dobbin
Stanford, Milton Harelik, Otis Grant and Doc Nelms.
