Fairview School (Fairview No. 35) was organized about 1873 by Gilbert Kingsbury, James P. Murphree, John Eddy, and Oren Peck. The first Fairview School building was a floorless and doorless dilapidated log cabin. This 14x14 cabin had boxes for seats. Books had to be placed in a box and placed out of reach of the cows who strayed into the building at night. Without a source of heat school could be taught only during warm months.

On 4 March, 1880, W. D. Dobbins, who held second grade certification, was employed to teach three months at Fair View, No. 35 at a salary of $27 per month by trustees J. P. Murphree and William Hammer. The first school building was replaced by a better building, which in turn was replaced by another building. The third building burned and was replaced by still another. In 1917 a school building was constructed 150 yards west of the previous building at the foot of a wooded hill. By 1936 Vista, Cottonwood, and Hurst Ranch Schools had consolidated with Fairview School. Teachers in 1936 were John Lowesco Sills, Jr. and Mrs. Vera Mae Itschner.

Other teachers who taught in the Fairview School were Miss Emma Wilson, Lampkin Burney, Mrs. Emma Kingsbury, Joe Dickerson, G. Y. Price, Rube Love, Carl Putnam, Miss Annie Sawyer, Mrs. Dora Warren, John Warren, Mr. Allison, Mr. Sawyer, Mr. McCall, Miss Viola Dickerson, Miss Georgia Laceful, Miss Amanda Seal, Katherine Baker (who later married Brents Witty), Miss Met Workman (who married Dr. A. J. Koen), Jewel Workman (who later married E. T. Hughes and then Hugh Parish), Mark Vernon Wheeler, Johnnie Wall (who later became Mrs. Mark V. Wheeler), Opal Winningham (who later became Mrs. Ivy L. Deal), Newton Parrish, Bill Heifer, Ashley Seals, Jean Ellem, Miss Viola Wolf, Miss Stella Brenson, Ira Neighbors, Mr. Goodnight, W. E. Cox, Miss Ozella Soules, Mr. and Mrs. E. M. Hardwick, Mr. D. Hunter, Ashley H. Sills, and John Lipscomb Sills, Jr.

Fairview School, No. 31 had seven grades in 1911. In 1924-25 A. G. Erkine, J. Y. Hamilton, and J. L. Thompson were on the Fairview School Board and the teachers were Miss Stella Brinson and Miss Viola Wolfe. Fairview School consolidated with the Evant School.
